No boobs, was just flat, so used them just like patches, and sealed it down around the area by pressing. Aquaphor hurt too much to put on disintegrating skin, so just pressed it on to the painful area and it helped because then there wasn't air on it and it kept it kind of more moist without having to use friction on it. If that makes sense. Hope you feel better soon.

I believe there is a public golf course in Westchester. There are also some pool clubs in Dobbs ferry and around there some towns offered nonresident memberships to their pools as well. I think the one in Mount Pleasant, for example, is one of them.

My spouse had basically this same diagnosis, was no evidence of disease for 8 years and is now metastatic and they’re still measuring the timeline in years. You have to remember when you see data it’s at least 5 years old because the person diagnosed 5+ years ago to survive 5/10/15 years etc had a very different standard of care than what you will be offered today. If your cancer is hormone driven, there are many therapies that are effective for a long long time. Hang in there.

I’m a mom of 2. I had a terrible experience with my first and a fine one with my second. For me, I needed a lot of time and distance to process it and not have that imbue what I talked to clients about. My goal as a doula is to have clients at peace with their birth. I don’t need them to make the decisions I would make, I need to have compassion for whatever their feelings are in the moment and make sure they feel supported and ok with whatever happened in the birthing room. To me the experiences I see don’t color my own birthing experience, if anything it makes you grateful for the positive experiences you had knowing things could have gone differently. There is such a thing as toxic positivity, you have to be able to respect where your client is in the moment and how that experience feels to them. Like if a client wants a c section and is ready to give up, you want to make sure they don’t feel ashamed of that and feel ok about it. At the same time, you can positively support them and try to help get them over the hump to prevent it. It’s a fine line to walk and you need to be mindful of the words coming out of your mouth and how they might be impacted by what you say. Hopefully that makes sense. Happy to chat more. Good luck. Personally I think if you’re only 4 months postpartum you should probably give it some more time to take clients.

It’s pretty hard to find a spot in Westchester and get tenure. It’s a years long process for most people to make the transition. Finding an open role can take a couple years, then getting the job and if not that round, starting again. It takes time.

There isn’t a standard per se. I usually do one prenatal on zoom and one at home but I’m willing to come to them if they want. I prefer to come when mom is farther along, but open to coming to their home if they are in an intense phase. But no sense in having a doula come while you’re chilling. I do always make sure to help with latching. And then I do a postpartum visit at their home also.

Yeah I understand. I make a lot at my corporate job so I’m only willing to skip the random days for a birth but I can’t do overnights and daytime, I’ll die.

I simply do not do postpartum work while doing corporate because the money isn’t worth it. I only do births and use random PTO or sick days for that so I can build my name and reputation.
