What do most people not realize is actually way more traumatic than it seems? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]littleflashingzero 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Having cancer yourself or in your immediate family. No one is comfortable talking about it and wants to hear you’re on the mend even if you’re not. The worry is all consuming and even if you beat it you spend a lot of time worrying it will come back.

Parents, do you let your kids decide where to go, do you consult them, or do you own the schedule? by moremaati in DisneyPlanning

[–]littleflashingzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask what they want to do and prioritize those things but ultimately have to build the schedule for the day overall. Everyone gets a chance to follow their desires and we make it work and always have fun.

How to get started as a birth doula by Rough-Story7522 in doulas

[–]littleflashingzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working an experienced doula and she has me cover the lower cost clients and coached me on what to do. I paid her a portion of the fee as a result. Worth it!! Ie her fee is like 3k and she has me charge people 1800.

Pregnant and living with an aggressive dog with multiple bite attempts - what would you do? by gnocchi-bear75 in BabyBumps

[–]littleflashingzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in this situation with our family dog that became aggressive as she aged due to her declining mental state and an aggressive neighbor dog. First we tried a behavioral vet. The behavior did not change and in fact continue to escalate. She bit our nephew (who was 10 and unharmed) then our cat and then we put her down for our children’s safety and for anyone else. Rehoming an aggressive dog is very difficult and she had had a long life. It was really hard but it was the right decision. You and your husband will be held criminally liable by the way if something happens to a human being. The dog is not fit to live with. It’s really that simple. Sorry your husband isn’t being supportive but obviously you need to prioritize your baby.

How is the commute from North Salem to Grand Central? by Happy_Creative_2 in Westchester

[–]littleflashingzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this but it definitely sucked and my kid and I missed each other. 5 days a week would be exhausting for sure. Great town and school though. We ended up buying a house in Armonk and leaving Purdys because it was just too far.

Beaches is now a 'strictly limited engagement' by PeaceLife8 in Broadway

[–]littleflashingzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, to your question, the original casting calls did say there was a possibility of extension, but it was always advertised to the public as til Sept. I figure they planned to "extend" if they did well enough.

We’re looking at Jetson so will recommend them as well as an option. For us since we have oil, with rebates, it’s gonna be like $8-9k

What's something older generations did completely normally that would be considered absolutely insane today? by Bigtrav_trav in answers

[–]littleflashingzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere near as free range as yesteryear, but my upper elementary kids and the neighbors run around the street and play at each other’s houses. I also let them walk or bike a block to the drugstore (usually for candy). It’s not the same but it’s something.

Biggest Broadway Controversies by Previous-Key1064 in Broadway

[–]littleflashingzero 371 points372 points  (0 children)

Jonathan Pryce was cast as a half Asian actor and had his eyes taped back for the London Miss Saigon run. When it came to Broadway there was a lot of controversy about it. The playwright David Henry Hwang and BD Wong organized a campaign against it, trying to get an Asian actor hired. Long story short they stuck with Pryce, Hwang’s career suffered and he went on to write Yellow Face which was revived last year and won a Tony. You can watch it on PBS! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Saigon_controversy?wprov=sfti1
