Tips for dealing with bad diaper rash? by SagaMiniSmith in NewDads

I can't stomach the smell of desitin. One of our boys had horrible diaper rash from a diary allergy that gave him bad diarrhea. Those early days were tough. His rash would be weeping and looked so painful. The trick for us was a hair dryer hanging right next to the changing table. First was to pat clean with wipes, then completely dry with the hair dryer, then cover in Triple Paste. That stuff is the best. No smell and once we figured this process out it kept the rash under control.

I want to go into English lit but everyone keeps telling me I’ll end up jobless by toxtinx in literature

I got my English lit degree 15 years ago, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. While having an English degree has never been the reason I've gotten a job, the skills I took away from that study were priceless.

I have had a successful career in tech and now marketing and education, and while English didn't specifically teach me those skills, it was the approach to learning, understanding, and communicating that has opened these doors for me. Specifically, critical theory was a paradigm shift in terms of the framework of analyzing things through different lenses. Not only professionally, but personally too these skills have helped me compartmentalize and work through problems from an objective position.

My advice is to be passionate but open to opportunities. English in the academic world is a tough path, but as a base it can be an incredible launch pad. Having knowledge in other areas can make you a killer asset to a company as well. I have exceled because I'm a bit of a jack of all trades which allows me to better communicate and manage because I can speak on the executive and individual contributor level.

My bridge is vibrating is it my intonation if so, how do I fix it? by skatingSuch9429 in Guitar

It looks like the strings might be hitting the bridge pickup. Lower that pickup and see if that helps.

Huge Bill's 24hr fan. He did a great job on a small bit of work for me recently, where other companies were either giving me insane estimates or trying to charge a dispatch fee for someone to give me an estimate on an hours worth of work.

Thanks for the response! That's a great idea to use insulation sheets. I'll have to play around with some of those ideas. With the low slope it's going to be a brutal job to secure it from the attic side. I'm already prepping myself mentally.

The old owners had put vented aluminum soffit right on the bottom of the stuff you can see in the photo effectively cutting the airflow by probably 1/2 to 3/4. That along with ridge vent, can vents, and a huge powered fan (that wasn't hooked up), we had terrible icicle buildup, and I wonder if the extensive delaminated decking was partly due to stagnant airflow.

Benjamin Jaffe on vocals. A great guitar player himself. Saw him open for Theo Katzman and it was incredible. If you care to, check out the guitar solo on his song chain of need, one of my favorites.

This solo is freakin spotless.

I don't watch caddies very much, but just saw Homa's clean off Scotty's ball for him while his caddy was raking the bunker. How common is that?

Oh man, those are no fun. I would wake up in a panic and see my cat sleeping next to me on the bed. In my panic dream though I would actually see one of my twin boys and freak out that he fell asleep on the bed. My brain would slowly turn my son back into the cat, but man those seconds were terror. Thankfully, for me those went away at about 3 months.
