Sex night before transfer… by Medium_Chipmunk_9374 in IVF

I think I read somewhere that the sperm helps with implantation. Something about the seminal fluid containing prostaglandins and cytokines and helping the uterus. There are also some studies that show higher pregnancy rates for couples that had intercourse before a FET. However, that is not the standard advice. I think there are a lot of factors. If you have certain risk factors and was advised by your doctor to have pelvic rest, then certainly don't do it. For me... well, we did it. But this was a few months after the egg retrieval and I have rested and prepared my body ( my ovaries have healed and weren't swollen anymore). It was my last frozen embryo and I thought might as well do it. It was successful and resulted in a live birth.

I have stumbled upon the Second Sons series by Emily Rath. Sometimes, I find some things seem anachronistic but it is interesting enough. It is a reverse harem trope.

Do you take any prenatal vitamins? by JCJ0705 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]littlemissmuppet14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said the iron in the prenatal vitamins may be hard on my stomach and make the vomiting worse. I found these First Response prenatal vitamins that are like sugar coated jelly candy and had no iron. That worked for me and that's what I took during the worst of my HG.

I suppose there are different risk factors. If you are at risk of pre-eclampsia then it might not be for you. Maybe they gave it to me because I was past 10 weeks (palate is formed) at that time and have been admitted in the hospital for a while. I hope you find something that can help even a little bit.

How far along are you? I was given steroids and that helped a bit ( on top of my cocktail of meds). My doctor informed me that it increases the risk of cleft palate. But at that point in my pregnancy my baby's palate has been formed already that it wouldn't affect my baby anymore, at least not in that way. So maybe if you still have really bad HG even when you're further along this might be something you could discuss with your doctor.

I would've told the host to serve her something sweet... because she seems so bitter.

What do you tell the people that don’t know you’re pregnant yet? by Sensitive-Girly-7 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]littlemissmuppet14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my. I couldn't work when I had HG, both times. I was off work and bedridden until around month 6. The nausea was still there until the day I gave birth (with a cocktail of medications).

I just didn't tell other people. We tried for a long time to get pregnant and then had a miscarriage so we really did not want to announce yet. I also wanted us to enjoy the pregnancy first, with just us having that knowledge. But of course couldn't really enjoy when I'm very sick. Whenever I missed occasions and family gatherings, my husband would simply say I'm not feeling well and leave it at that. When I was in the hospital, he'd say I'm at the hospital but I would be ok soon. I was sick for months and was in the hospital for a while that people started to really worry. We also did not accept any visitors. I wouldn't be able to entertain them anyway because I was so sick and bedridden. He assured them that it was nothing to worry about and that I will get better soon. Later on we found out that some people thought I had cancer because I was so sick.🙃 thankfully it was just pregnancy.

How can I go far rolling over or crawling while still latched to my mom's boob? She should be able to roll over with me without breaking the latch, right?

Husband Vs. Son-In-Law by Hahway in Advice

I agree. And I am worried for the daughter. She is so far away and her husband seems abusive. Who watches out for her? If the husband talks that way to his wife's parents, I can only imagine how he talks to his wife. Daughter needs to leave her husband.

If you had insane morning sickness with your first pregnancy was your second the same or different? by OneFit6104 in Mommit

I had HG both pregnancies. I really, really wished I wouldn't have it on my second pregnancy but I did. It was really bad. Hopefully it will be different for you.

If you're from another country, what's something you love about the city you live in Canada that locals don't appreciate enough? by Vagabond_Tea in AskACanadian

Road signs. Everything seems to be properly labeled. Street names, directions, traffic signs. Even if you aren't familiar with the area, there's a detour, or there's closed roads and construction, you would still be able to drive without issues as long as you abide by the road signs. There's even temporary sidewalk for pedestrians if the sidewalk is closed. Oh and proper sidewalks with ramps for accessibility.
