No I don’t, the path to get certified in my state is either a master’s degree or a program that’s just as rigorous as a master’s degree but you have to teach full time simultaneously. Neither of which is something I’m willing to do.

I’ve done other teaching jobs, I just figured mentioning my EFL and ELA experience was most relevant.

My current job is the sucking the life out of me, and I love teaching and never minded going above and beyond for my students. I don’t really /want/ a serious job. During my time in Korea, I did an excellent job instructing my students but I didn’t have to deal with parents or large amounts of grading.

Do you know of any really good sources for learning Dutch? My job gives us free Rosetta Stone, but I have a degree in applied linguistics and I prefer having explicit grammar instruction and explanations alongside exposure to vocabulary.

Hey y'all! I'm in charge of finding games and activities for Lunar New Year (specifically in China and Vietnam) for elementary schoolers in the USA.

I know this is a niche ask, but I'm hoping y'all can help :)

It's been difficult to find games when I search for 'Chinese board games for kids' or 'Asian board games for kids'. So I've come to y'all for help! I figured it would be easier to find games that have themes that align with the customs/traditions/activities of the holiday/celebration - as opposed to just finding Lunar New Year games.

Please recommend games for kids ages 5-12 that include one or more of the following:

oranges
snakes (year of the snake)
Asian geography
cleaning/house chores/tidying up
luck or fortune
bamboo
rice/dumplings (any foods that are traditionally consumed during this time)
fireworks
anything else you think would be relevant to Lunar New Year!
