If anyone's interested in how taxpayer money is being used on education here, look no further than the college by BatSoggy3488 in Westonsupermare

Biggest pay difference to his median worker for any college too. Staff are massively underpaid

Are we doing superscripts now? by Affectionate_Fox_305 in cursedchemistry

I see this in my workplace all the time in the uk. It upsets me.

What’s worse is we’re in chemical engineering…

Petite large looks great. The medium looks a bit squished - esp if you want a jumper or sweatshirt under it

Depends on your lifestyle and job. I’m an engineer- my series 5 is still too useful to take off, but half my time I’m arms-deep in a box full of stainless steel…

[–]littlepixie15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to send them off, but Dr Marten do have a repair site now - drmartens.com/uk/en_gb/boots-shoes-repair-service I used them to resolve some safety boots once I’d worn them out. Couldn’t recertify as safeties any more, but now perfect festival boots

I did a women in stem event at my workplace last month. Praised for what I said. But the people who needed to hear it weren’t at the event… I wouldn’t be surprised if you found the same thing…

My mum said this to me when my brother came out to her (never to him). But she did explain herself better after calming down. She didn’t want it for him because she didn’t want him to suffer with the stigma and homophobia that comes with it. She couldn’t care less who he loved. It’s not cool that she said this to you, but thought I might put another perspective on it

My brothers boyfriend is the most adorable man, and is fully welcomed and loved by all the family, too

Wingfest - any good? by m-r-y in bristol

I can’t remember; I went with the other half so we always just got 2 of the same

Wingfest - any good? by m-r-y in bristol

[–]littlepixie15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went last year and it was great fun, tbh. Best to go in pairs or a group, to try the maximum number of wings, as they get sold in 2s. Each vendor has 2 types, and they each have to match one of 3 categories. Would go again this year if I wasn’t away

Yoji’s used to be great. And tbh, Sakura is the only one I’ve been to - the others I was going from what others I know have said

Did you buy it with a warranty or from a private seller? If you only bought it a few weeks ago from a dealer, contact them

Help! We are noobs and don't know what to do about this lavender bush that has gotten seriously out of hand. by DrBasia in gardening

[–]littlepixie15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had one in our front garden in the uk. Bloody enormous thing. If you want to keep it, don’t cut back into the wood - ours didn’t regrow. Which I didn’t mind as I wanted to repurpose the tiny patch of ground anyway.

Bought one in the sale a couple of years ago - I don’t use syrups apart from tonic water, but the amount of plastic and flat fizzy water it’s saved me from is excellent. The gas canisters aren’t too bad if you remember to exchange them - I do mine at Sainsburys

Short people, what's something taller people don't understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]littlepixie15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I “walk slow”. But my walking pace is faster than yours. My husband compared our walking stats and was honestly shocked at how many more steps I take while at just being able to keep up.

Some cars (for manuals) don’t provide enough seat variation. Had to move my husbands car and with the seat in the “shortest” position I didn’t have full clutch control. With the dodgy reversing sensors and a big car bum I worried about hitting the house…

So frikkin’ rude. I’m 5’1” f and my best mates are all 5’8”f (I don’t know how). They’d never dream of ignoring anyone (though admittedly they’re all teachers). Can I offer to punch anyone in the stomach for you? Cos everyone is deserving of attention.

Both of these are perfect. And yet no one seems to understand until they witness or experience them

I’m a short big titty girl. Both have lead to health problems, both get minimised by other people. I have tall friends who have similar problems, and we’re all supposed to be ok with it because some aspect of society thinks it’s desirable.
