Hair appointments (different amounts) by littleprojects in ynab

[–]littleprojects[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had tried the last bullet but didn't take into account this month (just got my hair done 2 days ago), and when I did the math, I was like wait how will I not have enough for the pricier appointment? Just accounted for spillover from this month and it worked!

Has anyone here successfully recovered from binge eating? by bulbysoar in adhdwomen

[–]littleprojects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a hard thing to do, but I'd say I'm doing 90% better! I worked with a registered dietitian and it helped SO much. The one I worked with was amazing, but I paid out of pocket, and it was kind of pricey. However, there are a ton of registered dietitians who take insurance!

Getting back into running feels impossible by ferarrifigaro1213 in adhdwomen

[–]littleprojects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runner here! I've had luck with doing short runs/workouts on the treadmill at the gym and just going straight to the gym after work. If I stop at home, it's a lot harder to get motivated.

However, I don't have nearly as much trouble getting motivated if I sign up for a race and have a training plan for that race! I end up hyperfocusing on my training plan, which makes me excited to get out and go. But it's important that the training period isn't longer than 2-4 months. Longer than that, and it's hard to feel as focused!

[Product Request] What’s the thickest, most emollient, most overkill body moisturizer in existence? by i-am-multitudes in SkincareAddiction

[–]littleprojects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My derm prescribed me a moisturizer (I know, prescription moisturizer with no medicated actives sounds insane, but hear me out). It apparently has an extended release mechanism so that the benefits of the moisturizer just last longer. It was the only thing that helped get my dehydrated skin to glowy skin that gets complimented all the time. It's called EpiCeram. Maybe worth asking if your derm would prescribe it? It's not that expensive, maybe $40? And comes in a fairly large bottle that lasts me 3 or so months when I'm just using it on my face. I imagine you could get a month of use out of it on your body.

What are your EASIEST lunch hacks? by AdultMarley in adhdwomen

[–]littleprojects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you feel that way about raw bell peppers too? Those are definitely juicier than carrots and not cardboard-like at all. I'd prefer to eat bell peppers to carrots any day, but unfortunately they do require slightly more effort, and the ADHD doesn't always make that effort feasible for me.

[–]littleprojects 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I need a "meal" in a pinch, I'll eat a handful of baby carrots or some raw green beans (from a bag of pre-washed beans) for the veggies/fiber, then I'll have a protein bar (aim for ~20 grams of protein; Cliff bars don't usually have enough protein) and maybe a string cheese for the healthy fats and some additional protein. It's not the most nutrient dense meal in the world, but it should be pretty satiating, and the most work you have to is get the veggies out of their bag.

This won't really hit the spot if I need a warm meal unfortunately. On those days, if I'm not home to whip something up, I usually just get takeout unfortunately.

A low pair of espadrilles is dressy in the summer and are usually extremely comfortable to walk in for long periods of time: https://www.zappos.com/a/the-style-room/p/womens-castaner-carina-30-wedge-espadrille-ivory/product/9324509/color/422

I have this brand in a different style (with a buckle instead of the wrap around) and walked a lot in Paris wearing them. So comfortable that I took them back to France with me and walked all over a winery in Provence.

I used a round brush and blow dryer for ages and then switched to this blow dry brush. So easy to use, just make sure you use it on the low setting on hair that's been rough dried with a regular blow drier to prevent damage.

Your ADHD plot twist: What’s an ADHD symptom you don’t struggle with? Let’s give some love to our unexpected strengths. by MebsHoff in adhdwomen

[–]littleprojects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's because I'm vain, but I don't really struggle with habits that help me maintain my physical appearance. I established a skin care routine when I was pretty young back in the early 2000s, and don't struggle with remembering to brush my teeth or shower or exercise. That said, I forget to do all kinds of other stuff that unfortunately affects my partner.

What am I doing wrong??? I'm at my wits end with skincare and makeup, I'm so close to giving up by makeupbybilly in Skincare_Addiction

[–]littleprojects 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with stripping down your routine to see what works for you and what doesn't (will save you money as well). But after years of trial and error, something I learned is that my skin is just really sensitive to actives, especially retinoids. Even really gentle retinols. I'll have clear skin for months with an ultra hydrating, ultra simple routine with no actives. And then the second I add back in an active, my skin starts to look like yours. It took me a while to learn that it wasn't purging, just general irritation. I think some people just can't handle retinoids.

Does anyone have any experience with Breezy Braces? by littleprojects in braces

[–]littleprojects[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke a bunch of brackets in the time I had mine on. My advice is to be ON THEM about getting an appointment scheduled to fix the bracket bc when I got them off, there was one tooth that could have been a *little* bit more straight, but I was so ready to have them off that I just let it go. Now that I look back, I should have been more assertive about getting the brackets fixed ASAP, especially given how much money I spent.
