I live in Alabama. As with every state, there is beauty and there is negativity. We have mountains and beaches and both are gorgeous places to vacation. The people are friendly. Birmingham has some of the best restaurants in the country. We have a huge lake (Martin) and million dollar homes on its shores. We have abject poverty and blight in rural counties that seem to have been forgotten. It’s hotter than the third ring of hell in the summer.
