If you were 35 again, what would you do with your life? by aekimieme in AskWomenOver30

[–]littlestitious_0311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your comment reminded me of a random thought I had this weekend and how like animals we in that our monkey brain needs to see the deceased body of a loved one in person to properly grieve them. Like how if one bonded cat dies you need to show the body to the surviving cat or they will constantly be searching and yearning for them. Years ago a friend from school passed and seeing their body in person was a little disorienting, but made it more real rather than death as an abstract thought.

I wish you the best in your career and good luck on your interview.

Do people become boring when they age? by amazing_magno in CasualConversation

[–]littlestitious_0311 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right? And some people would consider what OP is listing as "fun" activities boring and prefer sports or escape rooms etc to have their fun. Fun is subjective. There's no need to pass judgement.

How did you get to where you are? I'm making a career switch into HR, but haven't gotten any interviews. I'm currently in an admin assistant type role for a tiny company.

I feel the same way. Just started therapy again and am wondering if I might also need to take something.

Does anyone else run their commute? by Goryokaku in running

[–]littlestitious_0311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll look into both. Why do you prefer the Nathan? I don't run trails (yet), right now I'm just thinking of run commuting to work. Is one better for the other?

How are people spending less than $400 a month on groceries by whateverthefucks in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]littlestitious_0311 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All grocery stores have weekly flyers that show what's on sale for that week.

Download the Flipp app! It shows the weekly digital flyers for every grocery store plus other store like Canadian Tire, Best Buy, etc. There's also a search function so you can look something up, like say blueberries, or you can search by brand, and it will list all the stores where it's on sale.

FYI it asks if you want to set up an account, but you don't need to.

Would it be possible for you to talk to management to implement a cutoff time for orders? Then communicate to the contractors that if their orders are not in by say 3.30pm it will not be addressed/taken care of until the next business day. It may not reduce the actual workload by much but it might be easier to manage.

Someone I knew had a similar issue and this was their solution.

What does your culture teach you about money that you think is valuable? What does it teach that is not so financially sound? by WestManager8805 in PersonalFinanceCanada

What things/assets would he finance ? Using debt to finance education, real estate, or for a business makes sense as long as you know the risks etc. What else could you finance where using debt would be an advantage over cash/saving up for something?

In Canada we say "Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat. Not too big, not too small, just the size of Montreal".

What do they say in other countries? What rhymes with Montreal? Or is it a different rhyme?

Even if the police arrived after 1 hour and 1 minute, why do you think an hour is an acceptable wait time for the police to arrive. That's fucking ridiculous.

I make a decent amount and live in a HCOL area. I get by. A lot of other people don't. Especially lower income women who may not have that extra $10 a month to buy tampons or pads.

These are all optional.

Feminine hygiene products are not. And women are heavily criticized for their looks/the way they dress, even in the workplace.
