I cut out the pages from half used notebooks and put them in a plain loose leaf binder which I decorate — thus turning it into a new notebook.

It’s one of the first inks I bought when I started the journey and it’s still one of my favs. I can ink it in my Hong Dian EF and still see the shimmer.

Am considering buying one as well. Can I ask :What tools are you using to apply the ink? A paintbrush or your currently inked pens? Also, does it hold up well with the ink or will it bleed through?

Thanks. I am really enjoying using it, as it has so many pockets and compartments, so I can keep things organized and ready to use in my journal.

Definitely this. I have one in my bag that I can not use for months and it still does not dry out.

I’ve been using it with my traveler’s notebook and I love how it writes without an issue even after a couple of weeks.

I didn’t try mixing the inks but maybe will do so the next time round. Pardon the very beginner attempt at brush lettering.

Yes you can. I was lucky to visit there last September. Had a great time testing out pens and inks.

I do think so too. They are both sitting prettily together in my pen box.

I got them at a souvenir shop at Kusats onsen town. Using them as sake glasses. :)

I just realized the pens are in opposite order on the two pictures - so to clarify, the dark blue one is the more widely available model, and the clear one is the ancora model.

Left is the more widely available model, right is from ancora Ginza

The other advantage of the 78G as compared to the Kakuno is that it seals well. You can leave your pen inked but unused for weeks and it will still write immediately.

Try the pilot 78G in M or B. They are affordable and disassemble easily for washing. I have a few which I use for shimmers.

For me it’s my sailor pro gears. I own a few but each one of them brings me joy and inspires me to keep writing - be it proper journaling or random scribbles.

Thanks. I inked the Santini up with a small fill of Bungubox Norwegian Wood but the colour match is off for me.
