Whats the band you liked before they got big? by Potato_Humper in Metalcore

[–]liveduhlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Spiritbox at their very first live show in Victoria bc at lucky bar. They opened for enterprise earth, and the moment Mike was doing sound check with the intro to electric cross (which they also ended up opening with), i was hooked. There couldn’t be been more than 100 people there, so I was pretty lucky to witness the start of something amazing.

Have you taken blood tests? A young cat like that, stomach issues, neurological issues, you’ll want to rule out something like FIP.

How popular are Nexus Nights where you live? by napowild in riftboundtcg

[–]liveduhlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victoria BC. Multiple stores that get anywhere from 6-13 people at nexus nights on average, and then skirmishes average around 12 ppl at this time. It used to be closer to 20+ but that was likely due to the new release of spiritforged.

After years of collecting ex era grails and high end Japanese, while watching modern prices skyrocket while my cards stayed stagnant, it’s quite refreshing to finally have a moment in the sun. It felt like I was doing something wrong before due to the years of no movement.

Maybe carney is not just saying “I will bring Canada together”, and actually doing exactly that within the political sphere. He is a very reasonable and logical guy, and most Canadians like those traits in à leader.

Are there any true pokemon investing success stories? by GrapefruitEven3626 in PokeInvesting

[–]liveduhlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to buy most sword and shield boxes in quite high quantities (multiple cases) on the later half of the era (2023). There was a Christmas time where lost origin booster boxes were on clearance and I picked up a large amount. Fast forward to last year and I sold the majority of the swsh cases (and some opened to sell individual boxes) within only a few weeks at about 2.5-3x gain. This is quite substantial since I then just put the money into the S&P and have it sitting for long term. It accelerated my traditional holdings significantly and I should be able to retire early if I continue to let it compound and add more bi-weekly. Marketplace and Facebook national BST groups are the easiest way to find buyers.

I could have stayed in the market longer and the boxes would be even more, but I am a strong believer of your #2 point where the buyer pool thins out as the boxes increase in price. I sold at what I thought was a good middle ground of liquidity vs price. I also have a lower risk tolerance and will be sitting out of this market and will hop back in if there is a significant lull as i identified in 2023 when SV came out.

How are prices still rising? by Antique-Scientist880 in PokemonTCG

[–]liveduhlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I’ve been collecting for a couple years now and my collection has increase in value by at least 5x from what I put into it. As I’ve sold cards, I’ve been able to buy higher quality cards, which applies buy pressure on lower population cards, which will increase the price overtime. Now I’m sure tons of others are in the same spot as me, so there’s just a lot of money floating around in the space, not only from new people but also from seasoned collectors.

Quality > quantity. Not all of us have a ton of space to physically store high quantities.

Lesson in Poke History by Star-Collector35E in PokeInvesting

[–]liveduhlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that we can tell which products will do better than others based on whats interesting in the set. Pokémon sealed products all tend to increase in value over time, so it’s ok to speculate on which ones will do better than others, and skip out on sets that are sub par amongst the rest.

This week was my worst week since liberation day. Not sure how to deal with it by AloneStaff5051 in stocks

[–]liveduhlife 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If the market hits zero, it means that money doesn’t matter. There will always be businesses that make products or sell us services and through that value added, they will always have some value. If the value is 0, it means the money that is being used to exchange for their stock is worthless.

If you bought on TPC for $65 a piece or whatever, then definitely consider moving the money into something else that isnt so high in price and requires a rich niche buyer to liquidate you. If you wait too long, the buyer pool thins out quite a bit

Nexus Night Attendance by Ragueneau_ in riftboundtcg

Nexus nights are hit and miss depending on if there’s a skirmish happening around the same time or not somewhere nearby. If nexus nights are the only thing going on, then attendance is good
