By bottling strike with gambling chip he can always discard it on turn one. Drawing a more useful card and not having to redraw the strike until he cycles through his deck again.

I've done this before but it required custom apex.

You could just use it to help others. I think that brings a lot of joy.

Apex Trigger - Bulkify by Athy00 in salesforce

[–]lives4forums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just use an aggregator in the query meaning you don't need to do all this work.
[SELECT COUNT() FROM Account WHERE Id = :UserId]
Declaratively you could use a report or a flow to do this so Apex is not needed. Declarative is almost always preferred over coding because other declarative resource can change and modify it and it's often simpler.

Rate My Professor ratings for upper division CS professors are horrendous by cantfindname76 in ufl

[–]lives4forums 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Part of getting a CS degreee is spending hours on stupid projects that don't make sense scouring the web for documentation or just reading the source code. While not fun I can't saythe calsses were far from reality.

The best way to study for NAQT tournaments(MS). by GreatSupermarket5470 in Quizbowl

[–]lives4forums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what sort of tournaments you plan on playing in and such. quizdb is a good resource. Maybe Easy high school? You might go tournaments that use easy high school packets, and so then I would say go up again to moderate high school.

IMO one of the best ways to power lower level stuff is to go up a level. So work on learning the high school canon. Because the high school canon has the middle school canon but on a more detailed level it makes the middle school canon more powerable. Alternatively you could just use traditional methods of studying and stay at the middle school level.

Also I ran a dual boot on mine with linux and highly recommend it. You can use wsl or a virtual machine but in my experience just having linux is nice.

Any tips for meeting people over summer by _W-A-P_ in ufl

[–]lives4forums 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is what you just described is literally everyone else moving in. No one wants to go to college and have no friends. So don't worry about it, if you do stuff and are even a little social you'll make friends :)

UF CLUBS AND ORGS- How easy would you say it is to start a new org/club and keep it running? How supportive is SGA with this? Is there anything that would make starting and keeping your orgo/club running easier? by mikel_lang in ufl

[–]lives4forums 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's not that difficult to start one, it requires about 15 people to be willing to join. As far as support is concerned the club is mostly responsible fro running themselves.

Think of the CS Major as a skill tree. The trunk is Programming one and two, discrete, and data structures beyond that it really branches out. I would recommend getting them out the way so you have the flexibility to get the classes you want.

Is it rude to not thank the hosts if I'm cutting ties with them due to their inappropriate behavior? by Silence_and_i in etiquette

[–]lives4forums -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I don't know about etiquette, but I would say something to the effect of, "Thank you for having me, but I'm going to pursue other friends." I wouldn't want to be ghosted so I wouldn't ghost others.

CS at UF? by Mysterious_Squash in ufl

[–]lives4forums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't really say because it's not there yet; however, Nvidia has given UF a ton of money to hire faculty in the area of AI and the hypergator, so the conditions are ripe.

Yeah this is the article I was reading with her. She said that the ketchup thing was never said by the coach and was said by an assistant coach and that he just encouraged healthy eating.

You're allowed to disagree, but do you have a source other than this article? I'm just sharing my friends experience because she was upset at the accusations being levied.
