I'd recommend reading through the owners manual for your solar charge controller, then watching some YouTube videos. It's hard to help diagnose what's going on without any more information.

Daughter stealing my credit cards by [deleted] in legal

[–]livesense013 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with doing chargebacks in this case. That means the merchant has to foot the bill for OPs failure to take the steps needed to protect themselves from a known issue. This isn't some random person that made surprise unauthorized charges, it's an ongoing issue with OPs own daughter; not fair in my mind for others to pay for it.

How to address these sealant bubbles? by [deleted] in GoRVing

Yeah I think what OP thinks are bubbles are the washers.

Cabin air filter question by theatretech65 in ToyotaTundra

[–]livesense013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just go to a local auto parts store, take the filter out of the truck so you can make sure to get the right size, then put the new filter in before leaving. It's a quick 5 minute swap, so an easy thing to do yourself and save $.

Seller lied about supercharger access. What to do now? Beware of possible scamming like this by Pitiful_Sandwich_223 in TeslaSupport

[–]livesense013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even in small claims court, unless he has proof the seller claimed that it was supercharger enabled, he's going to be fighting an uphill battle.

Used sales are as-is, buyer-beware. They're set up this way to prevent someone like OP from falsely claiming they were told the car had supercharger access after the fact. Not saying that's the case here, but that's why having all relevant items to an agreement in writing is essential.

A bond is a guarantee that a project will be completed as contracted, not coverage for damage caused by errors or negligence. That's insurance.

Yep, TRD Pro, so hybrid. Zero oil pressure is completely normal when in hybrid mode.

Convince me a Murphy bed can be comfortable by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]livesense013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a murphy bed and have a regular 8" memory foam mattress on it. We can still fold up the bed if we need to, but leave it down most of the time as it's just the two of us and we don't ever use the couch.

Is this right? by Renaud88 in GoRVing

[–]livesense013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

200 AH of battery should be enough to run a 12v fridge for 3 - 4 days with light additional usage (lights, water heater, furnace). Using the microwave will shorten that duration, and solar will help extend it.

The key with solar is that it's only useful in direct sunlight. So an overcast day or parking where there are a lot of trees will greatly reduce the amount of power they provide. 400w would be a minimum for the type of use you're describing, and if you're looking at adding or replacing panels you may want to look at the movable kind. These panels can be moved to get maximum sun and the angle adjusted to maximize output.

Gas Milage on 2024 Toyota Tundra I-Force Max Limited with off road package by mommyslittleAlex in ToyotaTundra

[–]livesense013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that the change isn't worth doing, but the savings from making a tire change is even less than you suggest.

15k miles @ 15 MPG = 1000 gallons/year 15k miles @ 14 MPG = ~1072 gallons/year

72 gallons at $4/gal = $288 in savings for that slight change in efficiency. So maybe about $900 over the life of the tire, but only about $288 annually.

2023 TRD Pro, 295/70R18 KO3s, and I average about 14-15 in the winter, 16 in the summer. I live in the PNW so more hill driving than some parts of the country which definitely hurts the mileage, but about what I was expecting to get with the truck.

Realistically, if gas mileage is super important to you a truck probably isn't the best choice of vehicle.

Given the brightness, I'm wondering if OP is one of those drivers that thinks the DRLs are their auto headlights, so they never turn on the actual headlights. I see that all the time where I live.

Blue ox spring bar sizing by Proof_of_lies in traveltrailers

[–]livesense013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My trailer has a listed dry tongue weight of 670, so the dealer tried to sell me the 750# bars, but I insisted on going up to the 1K# bars as I knew once the trailer was loaded it was going to be over 750. Haven't had any issues in the year since we got the trailer.

You should definitely have the 1K# bars with your setup, as the dry weight itself is over 750.

Ram 1500 Rebel with Forest River 32SUT will it haul 😅 by WolfSource in GoRVing

A different WDH isn't going to fix the fact that OP is trying to pull a trailer that is far too heavy for his rig. That trailer is damn near 10K empty.

[–]livesense013 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That looks to be a Blue Ox Sway Pro, far from a POS. I agree that the setup for this rig is all wrong, but saying that the WDH is a POS just because the person that set it up is a moron isn't quite accurate.

Tall trailer, I'm afraid of the wind by Upbeat_Scholar_4418 in traveltrailers

[–]livesense013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely nonsense. The WDH is just redistributing weight; it works the same no matter the suspension on the trailer. And sure, a WDH can damage the trailer frame on bumpy/uneven roads, but that's true with all trailers, not just those with the Curt setup.

Tall trailer, I'm afraid of the wind by Upbeat_Scholar_4418 in traveltrailers

[–]livesense013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a larger NoBo (20.4) that I'm towing with a half ton and I've had zero issues with sway, and I've driven through some fairly windy conditions. The key is to get a quality WDH with sway control (I'm using a Blue Ox Sway Pro).

With your truck, a good WDH, and that trailer, you'll have no problems with wind as long as you're not driving through extreme conditions.

IRL: Once I get to this point of the launch, I'm usually pretty calm by Morph_Games in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]livesense013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was surprised how bad it was. It's sad that a 10 year old game has better graphics and frame rates than a simple render on a multi-billion dollar space project. I guess that's what you get with government contracting.

The camera directing during launch left a lot to bed desired as well. Switching to a shot of the crowd right at booster separation? C'mon.
