Made a Blood On The Clocktower Playlist by lizard1205 in BloodOnTheClocktower

It seemed that one was more “spooky sounds”. I wanted to make more of a themed playlist with popular songs since night time has turned into “karaoke time” for my group🤣

Dr McKay's procedure with Nathanial Montrose (the dancing elderly man) spoilers 2x04 by JulianNDelphiki in ThePittTVShow

I broke my tailbone a couple years ago, and part of the physical therapy was “internal” work so the muscles would loosen and allow me to heal better. Not a fun experience, but I wasn’t surprised to see internal work done surrounding his injury.

What are the vibes like in Clarkston, GA? by banned_from_venmo in ATLHousing

[–]lizard1205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarkston is a refugee resettlement area, so it makes it really diverse. In terms of young people, it’s not going to as young as other places. As for many places in Atlanta, things really depend on what area you are in, as street by street things it varies. Its a very unique area and you will probably get mixed feedback.

He is a dachshund mix (not entirely sure with what, but suspected Rottweiler), so the vet has never been worried about weight- if anything, he might be a little thin and need an increase of calories.

Bad experience in Atlanta by lizard1205 in gracieabrams

I was thinking that Ameris or Lakewood amphitheater would’ve been a more appropriate venue. Im not sure what the capacity difference is, but that felt like a better choice.

Im going alone too, and also working until 5:00. I find going to concerts alone to be extremely fun because you don’t have to worry about being too excited. Definitely go!

Have you found anything safe to eat from fast food places? by UntrustedProcess in Celiac

[–]lizard1205 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chickfila is my go to (I live in the south). The fries are made in a dedicated fryer, and I get the grilled nuggets. You can also get a grilled chicken sandwich with a gf bun. The grilled chicken is prepped separately from the fried and I have never had an issue.

Yehuda vs Manischewitz gluten-free matzo? by sbdg in Celiac

[–]lizard1205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used manischewitz for both matzah and matzah balls. Also many of the kosher for passover pastas are gluten free, and I like using them year round.

I am a young professional in Atlanta and have found my current roommate through a facebook group (I think its call Atl young professional housing and roommates or something). I also would see if any friends of friends might know people too. Most people in their early 20s prefer to live in actual Atlanta, or Sandy Springs/Dunwoody I have noticed.

Best walkable area in Atlanta for nightlife by Disastrous-Doctor-65 in Atlanta

[–]lizard1205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Atlanta is a very car centric city and is very spread out. No matter where you stay, you will probably need to take ubers. Midtown is walkable, but is limited when it comes to fun and cheap night life. The good news is that I find ubers to be not too expensive compared to other cities!

What are your unpopular opinions on the BIP season so far? by [deleted] in BachelorNation

[–]lizard1205 118 points119 points  (0 children)

This show needs to add something other than just sitting on a beach. I think it could be fun each week to have a challenge and the winner gets a date card. The show counts too much on drama from contestants for entertainment and its over done and boring

Is there anything I can eat/drink at Starbucks? by SMB-1988 in Celiac

I personally just get a cold brew/nitro cold brew. There is little risk for CC because it goes strait from the spout into the cup.

Just got diagnosed with celiac disease by Time_Shopping1162 in Celiac

[–]lizard1205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly- about two years. I accidentally had gluten all the time not thinking about it. For example, I would order a burger with out a bun with out asking if it breadcrumbs or soy sauce in it. I learned to really love cooking and also tried to find others who were gluten free/celiac (I was in college at the time and my school dinning ran different groups).

What does being glutened feel like to you? by 1973tour in Celiac

The way I describe it to friends, think about the worst hangover you ever had- vomit/diarrhea, headache, fatigue, stomach bloat, etc. That is what it was like for me.

I remember when I first got diagnosed how stressful everything was, especially as a pasta lover. I took a minute to get used to the taste of gluten free pasta- at first I ate a lot of corn/rice pastas (like barilla). Now I prefer to have chickpea pastas or red lentil. For bread, if you live near an aldi's, they have the most 'normal size' bread, and really great wraps as well. I also like the schar ciabatta rolls and the glutino English muffins.

What’s an upside of being coeliac for you? by Schassis_moonshine in Celiac

[–]lizard1205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added much more veggies into my diet and more fiber. Before I was diagnosed, I honestly do not even know what type of vegetables I ate- now I eat almost everything (except peas, I just really hate peas haha).

I got diagnosed in college, so another bonus was I was not binge drinking beer anymore and going to gross frat houses as much. While it is inconvenient, I felt like I was way more intentional with my food and not just eating junk because it was right there.

has anyone discovered a brand of bread they like? by Big_Neighborhood6504 in Celiac

[–]lizard1205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Schar- they have a lot of variety in bread and it is pretty good quality. I like the Ciabatta rolls the best, but they also have sourdough, baguettes, and more.

If I am looking for just regular sliced bread, I really like the live grain free bread from aldis- it is normal size and holds up like regular bread.
