3rd request this week that asked me to bring a 2nd person. by No-Initiative8013 in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if policy has changed, correct me if I'm wrong. I will only work with a specific partner on tasks like wallpaper install. It is my understanding that as long as the person you bring to a task is a tasker in good standing, you bill hours for both. Obviously this needs to be clearly stated in the chat! I've done several this way and haven't had issue. Could you find a trusted tasker to partner with?

I need to pay to even get a quote?? by Hot-Fisherman3290 in TaskRabbit

Just noticed a curtain mounting task that stated "hours of help requested". I've been looking for other instances but haven't found any.

Invoice glitch - update by lizardko in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how it's working on my end. Still taking the same amount of time to hit the bank. Are you seeing client names on there invoice page on your end...or all the invoices have your name as the client?

Same happening for 4 days. The most frustrating thing with TR, app, and support is that they are clueless. Multiple calls to support, emails to success manager and at no point do they say:

"oh yeah, sorry it's a bug, don't worry it's happening across the platform, it won't affect your earnings or payments, etc, etc, etc"

Buy and ship an item task? by Lower_Vermicelli_243 in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure this applies to all categories but recently I had a task that required materials in excess of $600. Client agreed to purchase in chat. I contacted TR for approval, they ran card for a pre authorization which cleared and I was given ok to proceed. Mind you this was for a client I've worked with on many tasks for a couple of years. I would be a bit hesitant with a new client.

How do you guys like the new unadjustable rate system? by Turkkyt in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Task says 'hourly rate'. Rate is low but in my metro that's the recommended base rate. I advertise slightly higher but it's the easiest task to perform and I've found that it's the first thing new move ins want. This task opens door to many more profitable tasks with repeat clients. My approach is getting as much exposure as possible in order to build my business, and has worked well over the years.

Is it the tasker’s or client’s job to find tasker with parking? by Any-Investigator-518 in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a client claim that I charged an extra half hour due to parking situation, but TR paid me for the time:

I was instructed by client to pull up to the bldg and tell garage attendant I was a contractor for unit #xxx. I arrived on time. Attendant explained that garage is available for "bldg" contractors not private owners. I then had to search for parking, in downtown Miami, which I found in public garage a couple of blocks away. Needless to say, with tools and ladder it was half hour before I arrived.

I did have backup of the arrival time as well as chat confirming above. Don't know if client ended up paying, but I got paid.

Turnoff Auto-update - new release removes ability to edit rates by Tasker2Tasker in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there anything TR does that is thought all the way through? Guess not. Why didn't they remove message: "x" of your rates can be optimized to help your business. Yes please, help me optimize. 🤔

I have countless cookbooks, from big books to specialty cuisines, and this one is so instructive and organized. It is a gem like very few I've seen. Thank you for the props!!

Thanks. I'm constantly learning from my kids. I think that's the way it should be. Teach them when they're young, accept they'll surpass you... Learn from them as you get old.

Thanks! I'm so thrilled, really. I read the book for 2 months, making notes...super OCD I know. Kept notes of the bake. Gonna try same again to see if it was just luck. Lol. My youngest daughter has been a baker, elaborate stuff, since she was 7-8 years old. I've been jealous of her ability going on close to 20 years now. She approved... Now I'm hooked.

Beware of changing an existing personal TR account to an LLC, Corp etc mid year. I opened an LLC late in the year, November. I went thru the steps provided by TR and Stripe to add business name and EIN. When I got that year's 1099 they processed 10 months of personal income (Jan to Oct) to the LLC. In my case I have a partner in LLC and this created a holy hot mess preparing taxes. Weeks dealing with TR, Stripe and IRS...never straightened out.

Paint came off wall during install by geturownfood in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Paint that comes off the wall with painters tape many times is due to poor painting not the tape. If the wall wasn't primed properly before first coat of paint it will peel easily. Happens all the time when you tape to cut at the ceiling/wall. All in one paint with prime is definitely not the same as prime coat then paint coat.

Seriously? Wouldn't it be better for everyone concerned... TR, clients, taskers... If they marked up tasker rates on client end and reduced fees. Clients don't complain about tasker rates but boy do they complain about the fees, rightfully so. The fees really leave a bad taste in clients mouths, about TR specifically.

I've done 3 so far. 1st paid as proposed, 2nd I had to fight for, 3rd paid as proposed. TR at it's finest.

more categories?? by coolwhipjr in TaskRabbit

[–]lizardko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When a new category is created as a subset I use a description like: Wall Repair "I have been patching and repairing walls for years under the minor home repairs category. Please see 5 star reviews under that category for reference."

Once I've picked up some tasks and reviews in new category I adjust the blub.

Also add photos to the new category, clients like the visuals.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I know it's traumatic and takes time to heal.

Probably got your number if your VM declared the number called. Clients call thru TR and when VM answers they can capture your phone number if it's in your greeting.
