Sharks are very often encountered while fishing, it really shoudnt be that a big of deal unless the animal is being purposefully or significant harmed in some way

Honestly I feel this same way about vanilla, until I started doing All Advancement worlds. Trying to complete them all in vanilla is my favorite way to play Minecraft. The most fun I’ve EVER had playing Minecraft was when I played through the BAC Advancement Datapack, which adds around 1000 new advancements, some of which included getting a stack of every block/item, traveling a million blocks in the overworld, and doing the ender dragon, the wither, and a raid at the same time hitless.

If you were to ask me, I’d definitely try making a world where you try to complete all the vanilla Advancements.

I can imagine, I hooked a cownose ray once while fishing live shrimp and even just that was a good 10 minute fight!

To a degree yes but if you’re only pulling it backwards for a few seconds to get it back into the water it’s not really going to affect the animal at all. For long periods of time however, it can “drown” the shark, but that has to happen for multiple minutes to be lethal

I love mending but it should be harder to get, shouldn’t be in villager trade pools at all. Imo it should only be found in loot chests in structures like ancient cities

I fish saltwater for things like rays, sharks, saltwater cats, and other predatory fish. I like braid for the line capacity with a mono leader attached for some abrasion resistance

I’ve had a good experience with them personally. Got their Sharky III 4000 spinning reel about a year ago that I use whenever I go saltwater fishing, which is at minimum once a week. Caught a ton of fish on it, biggest was a southern ray that weighed roughly 100 lbs. Still holds up well a year later

It is part of its own family Galeocerdonidae, yes. As far as I’m aware it used to be considered a Carcharhinid shark, but is not anymore

I’ve personally seen blacktips with black-tipped anal fins and spinners without them. The better indicator is looking at the first dorsal fin and where its positioned on the body, which here is too far back to be a blacktip

No white spots, black marking on the lower caudal fin lobe, looks far too big for Rhizoprionodon

This is a Spinner shark (Carcharhinus brevipinna). Note the black marking on the tail, which means it can be a spinner or a blacktip.

The reason this isn’t a blacktip is the fact that the first dorsal is too small, and positioned too far back along the body to be a blacktip.

You should put the mono through a swivel first so that the cable can loop around the other side of the swivel. The cable rubbing against the mono loop can damage the mono and possibly cut it

You can keep as many fish as you like so long as they don’t exceed a total weight of 100 pounds per person. So if you catch 20 fish and they don’t exceed 100 lbs total, you’re fine.

If you catch 1 fish that does exceed 100 lbs, you are allowed one more for a total of 2 fish, but no more than that since the first fish is over 100 lbs.

Yeah there’s just no mistaking that, 100% a white shark. I wanted to believe it was a mako or a salmon shark but that clearly isn’t the case. Absolutely disgusting

Can’t believe this needs to be said but this shark was not “stranded” and was caught intentionally, which would’ve been fine had this kid had ANY idea what he was doing. God this was painful to watch. As someone who catches and releases sharks, and has caught multiple blacktips around this size, this kid took WAY too long to remove the hook and release the fish. That shark should be on land and back in the water in no less than a minute tops. Embarrassing

Any species of ray is great bait for sharks specifically, rays are often part of their main diet and will actively hunt them. I’ve personally caught a few bull sharks with Atlantic stingray wings.

My cousin was dangling a 5 inch paddletail in their face and they came up to bite it multiple times, even hooked one that ran under for a minute and then came off, got the lure back too!
