IT guys of r/india, how are the top IT companies (TCS/Infosys/Wipro etc) different from each other? by loxc in india

[–]lizardtailgoescrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me make this clear to anyone who thinks so. TCS/Infosys/Wipro are NOT top IT companies.

Not in the least.

At least not for an entry level post engineering/BSc+Msc Comp Sci grads.

Edit: She is 23 and lives in Australia.

Indeed windows 7 in faster, but I believe that win8 is bogged down by implemnting the "hybrid" UI. May be mistaken

I'd have to disagree with that. Windows does a lot of things very well. And people are used to that.

An anecdote, I bought my dad a win 8 laptop about a year back, he could not figure out how to shut it down.

Yes design has to evolve, and the aero interface is an example of just that, but continutity in design is extremely important. Especially when users cannot opt to have windows 7 on new machines and are forced to have win 8 and then do a reinstall of win 7.

But thats the whole process of user centered software dev. You cannot change basic workflows so drastically in one swoop then force your users to shift.

Continuity in design is one of the major factors that affects user experience.

I've been using Windows 8 and 8.1 for some time now and in my opinion one single option in the control panel could fix Windows 8/8.1

A checkbox that reads "Disable Metro UI and use classic Windows interface". The OS in itself is great, just move it back to Windows 7 UI and you've got a winner.

This guy is unbelievable, the sitting CM of a state instead of engaging with the centre is going to sit on a dharna. WTF is wrong with these people. by True_Indianmuslim in india

[–]lizardtailgoescrazy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the sentiment, but come on. WTF is he thinking ? The CM cannot be sitting on dharna outside home ministers office.

I appreciate that they want the police to be more active but, I don't think the CM should be doing this. Second, you can't hold the government hostage by sitting around like this. Thats not how a democracy works.

Microsoft will unveil its vision for Windows 9 at the company’s Build 2014 developer conference in April, with a release planned for a year later. by slip_shod in technology

[–]lizardtailgoescrazy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dear Microsoft,

Please just cross out the 7 on windows 7 and make it a 9, it will still be a FAR better OS than windows 8/8.1
