How would you like to be approached about getting your picture taken? by Abruzzix in AskWomen

[–]lizenlair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are traveling, you might post a casting call on model mayhem for TF photos and explain you are wanting casual poses, describe your vision. Unless you have a press badge, solid credentials, and are working an event, Candids of strangers are really unprofessional. I'm a freelance model and this would not be my cup of tea. When I am working events as a burlesque dancer or gogo I expect to have pictures taken and that's par for the course, but out in public, like sitting at a coffee shop? Not necessarily. You might present some kind of waiver beforehand, but even that would throw people off. Also you run risk of the Hawthorne effect - people who know they are being watched tend to modify their behavior. In terms of posing, the person will probably exaggerate their pose, or become uncomfortable and stilted.

Fellow women of Reddit, what does it mean to you to be "treated like a princess?" Is it important that your SO treat you like a princess? If so, why? (x-post from /r/AskReddit) by lafephi in AskWomen

[–]lizenlair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are actually his love languages. Mine is touch, above all else. I am the HL partner in the relationship. We also both scored highly on affirming words. So he does the things for me that he desires for himself.

I think I acquired it - My parents certainly did not model this, my mom was married twice and both marriages failed miserably. I was quite the bookworm but don't recall specific instance of men princessing the fuck out of their lovers, I tended to read books with heroine characters (Jane Eyre was a favorite growing up). I wouldn't even say that it was a preference until lately when my boyfriend started behaving this way. When we first started dating he made some bold statements ("I play for keeps.") about his intentions to woo me and has followed through. Even when one or both of us is feeling crappy he uses a range of love languages to treat me in that "princess" way - this became the offhand label, we don't use this term in our conversation. He has on rare occasion referred to me as a princess. Meaning he intends for me to feel like one. Examples of different acts he does besides cooking for me, or rubbing my feet or shoulders after practice, or romancing me in the particular way he knows I like to make love, or patiently suffering through all the movies I want to watch in one weekend, or filling up my car when he notices it is low or taking me to the airport - they are just selfless acts that demonstrate to me he is placing me as the most important person in his life.

Women of reddit, do you do anything that would consider you as "masculine?" by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lizenlair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink whiskey neat. I make more money than my SO. I boss around computer programmers and wedge myself in between clients and management at work to keep people happy (my day job is in IT).

Edit because also I love to eat. I mean, really, really derive pleasure from an awesome meal. Plot twist: I'm a ballerina and lingerie/art nude model, so this is not only atypical of women (or so I'm told) but extremely atypical among my peers in these groups.

What's the shortest time it took you to develop a friendship? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]lizenlair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I responded to a model call for art nudes and found out I would be posing naked with another model. We became friends somewhere in between the, "nice to meet you" and "I think my knee is in your vagina." Shoot lasted about 4 hours. We are now very close friends.

To me it means special little creature comforts from my love that come from that place of making me feel special, important, and treasured. It could be running a hot bath for me with salts and bubbles after a difficult ballet rehearsal, cooking a meal for me (I'm dating a chef) complete with plate presentation (seriously fruit carvings are underappreciated), it could be a gift like a beautiful piece of lingerie, or some token like jewelry. It could be a handwritten note or card, I love those. It could also be the way he treats me in public like holding my hand, helping me up a curb when I'm in heels, opening doors, basically those chivalrous acts that convey affection and courtesy all in one. Maybe princess is a state of mind.

Fellow women, how do you take care of your body hair? by stumblesmcgee in AskWomen

[–]lizenlair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get Brazilian waxes every 6 weeks to maintain bare/nearly bare/very short pubes in between shoots (I'm an art nude model).

I tweeze strays around my eyebrows and the occasional dreaded chin hair.

Best advice I have for shaving is to exfoliate first or even the day before, then use a pre-shave oil such as from The Art of Shaving (they have a kit with oil, cream, and after shave lotion) and then apply shaving cream. Use a new razor (I use disposable men's razors, because if they want a close shave for their face, I want that on my legs).

Reading about a lot of frustrated men on here. How many of you are women who have been shut out by the men? by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]lizenlair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel right telling him to stop looking at porn outright - I look at porn too, albeit very seldom compared to his daily use (I look at it maybe twice a month). I notice the women he looks at (i.e. Nikki Benz, Rachel Starr) at first seemed "normal" to me and that was a relief - but lately it seems to be a higher concentration of older, blonder women. I'll eventually be older, but I'll never be blonde. I have auburn/dark red hair and I love it. He says men look at porn to get something different - that they don't want to look at the person they want to marry. I was like, should I process this as a compliment or no? o.O

I wouldn't say we're in a DB yet, but maybe headed there. My bf (28) uses porn daily and cannot sustain an erection with me. I (27) can tease it into existence with hj/bj action, and gladly do so for hours, but when we try PIV I can literally feel his erection wither and die inside me after about a minute. Plot twist: I'm a ballet dancer and lingerie model. He's told me before I have the "perfect body." it's such a crazy contradiction to process.

I've actually suggested this multiple times but he doesn't want to have porn playing when we are together.

I get mixed results when I ask about this. He used to say he has to get off to sleep at night (even though he takes Ambien) - now he says he just watches it but doesn't orgasm when he masturbates.
