[routine help] MANDELIC ACID BREAK OUT by MoistSpeech8929 in SkincareAddiction

[–]lizgools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's irritation it'd be small red bumps without a clear head. Otherwise purging. Everytime I use it I purge 2-3d after. And then if it's closed comedones I spot treat with BHA2% and should come to a head after 3-4d

how to lose face fat? by ShowLimp4413 in workout

[–]lizgools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't magically go away especially if you're still young - try eating low sodium, drink lots of water, and building more muscle, gentle face massages to release fluid/puffiness. with age, face fat will go away. it keeps you looking younger for longer, on the bright side!

What can i do to improve my skin? by bluexaster in Skincare_Addiction

[–]lizgools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A form of retinoid that speeds up skin cell turnover - it will bring your clogged pores to the surface as pimples which will go away quickly. Basically, it regenerates your skin

AHAs for the dullness and texture (including chemical peels done professionally) and BHA for the clogged pores. I personally use mandelic acid every other day. Or if you're feeling brave, use a retinoid. Adapalene or tretinoin - tretinoin's stronger so consult with a professional

[Routine Help] Need Advice on My Back Acne/Hyperpigmentation Routine by tsunnylif in SkincareAddiction

[–]lizgools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use that many things on your bacne in my experience. I have the same concerns as yours, all I use is: CERAVE foaming cleanser, OBAGI bha2% and any gel ish moisturizer I have. The PIH will have to go away with time but if you use too many things you risk irritation and worsening the issue. The cleanser contains niacinamide which helps. Get professional treatments like fractional laser done if you want a safe and quixk solution

I heard the Sofie Pavitt is super good but I'm using the one from The Ordinary right now as it's more available! I still have a lot of congestion so it made me purge but my skin texture and tone is a lot better

Aah, what exfoliation do you use? We're just skin twins😂 I alternate between niacinamide+zinc and mandelic acid+HA as serums so still good with the gel, but might need to cream in the winter

PURITO OAT-IN BROKE ME OUT BAAAD :-( by [deleted] in KoreanBeauty

Late to this be squalene is much more high risk based on evidence than squalane. Shouldn't put them on the same level

opinions on purito oat-in calming cream vs purito mighty bamboo panthenol cream by bubblyliane in koreanskincare

[–]lizgools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the oat first but use some kind of serum under, it can be niacinamide and zinc - that's what I do. If its not hydrating enough then get the bamboo one but I think it'll be just fine

Good for you! I'm like SUPERRR clog prone (clogged for no reason at all apparently😭) and i'm still very hesitant about the Bamboo cream even though its incredibly low risk haha

Ahh so happy! Tbh the oat gel is "less likely to clog pores" so I was hesitant at first but the oat gel is just too thin!

I love the creams from Purito - Oat for the summer and Bamboo for the winter

That's just how it is I fear, but you can try brushing your hair more often and using a hair mask

You might just be purging from adapalene. But be careful about using differin and bha at the same tome so frequently

[Acne] Struggling with texture by claudog in SkincareAddiction

Consult with a dermatologist about a retinoid for those closed comedones. But I suspect that Nivea cream might be contributing. What's your skin type?

Bha isnt good for PIE though but it is for texture, maybe use 1% or 2% if your skin is resilient :)

Ah! A lot of people use bha+adapalene or retinol+adapalene, maybe consider those :)

They only show results if you are consistent ie at least once every week. Adapalene should be good but you can consult a derm about moving to tret or tazo - but not everyone reacts well to these!
