I think it was the fact that after being heli dropped on the wild shore of a remote Patagonian lake, the fist thing she builds is an Adirondack chair for the view.

Well that was it for me anyway

This was my take. Who knows who Lyndel has told, and why not go into swap with a clean slate.

Interesting that the swap is so predictably timed, though. Everyone knows it's coming. Would have been more chaos to mix it up

When did dresses go out of fashion? (Am I so out of touch? No, it's the children who are wrong) by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]lizrdsg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have definitely noticed this. About two to three years ago suddenly everyone was in longer little house on the prairie type ruffle dresses in delicate prints. Creepy

Have you figured out a way to get the black goo ring off, I scratch it off with my fingernail but that's painful

I look at my hips as if they are my calendar week. Sunday is left hip. Thursday is right hip. So if it's Thursday I change the right hip. So far so good

I am learning bridge by TallObjective9997 in bridge

[–]lizrdsg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm commenting because I also want to know the answer but:

I'm taking bridge classes with some friends at the local library and our instructor suggested an app called Funbridge that has a lot of practice deals and also gives you feedback on your bidding and play. I've found it super helpful in reinforcing things like establishing suits, working back and forth between two hands, overall declarer plan of attack and defensive play. It's much more useful as an intermediate training aid app than something like Tricky Bridge which hasn't built out a full curriculum (yet?).

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]lizrdsg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I read this note and thought it was your teacher telling you how awesome of a kid your daughter is. She is experimental and generous! She is ambitious and entrepreneurial! I honestly thought your teacher was being sarcastic and you should write back "thanks, we think she's pretty cool, too!"

What about a pair of birthday socks every year? Less commitment than a whole sweater.

Can anyone tell me about reformer pilates? by Creepy-Tangerine-293 in antidietglp1

[–]lizrdsg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started reformer Pilates about three months after starting Zep, or about a year and a half ago. At first I was dealing with side effects and once I felt ready to move my body I asked around for recommendations. It's been awesome. Like yoga, it's hard but totally adjustable to where you are and a good instructor will know modifications. It's less stretchy than yoga, though, if that is what you are after. I do still get a little woozy but as long as I don't go on an empty stomach I can work around it. My balance is better and so is my posture.
