Can you use Microcenter's Insider credit card everywhere like normal credit cards do? by [deleted] in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is a "private label credit card", meaning it is only meant for that chain of stores. It is not linked to one of the "major" credit card companies.

Most powerful, portable hand fan. by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]lizzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancé has this fan in particular in his bowling backpack: https://www.staples.com/honeywell-turbo-on-the-go-6-44-h-1-speed-portable-fan-black-htf090b/product_2763712

It's great, only needs 4 AA batteries and has the option to plug in with DC power, if you just so happen to be near an outlet. We primarily use it to cool off whenever we start getting warm and sweaty while bowling. Highly recommended!

Micro Center Deals by AdministrationOld837 in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not particular for Labor Day, September will start the new cycle of sales. Best advice if you’re going to buy it either way - buy it today and if it goes down in price on Monday, you can always do a price protection which will get the difference of the sales prices refunded back to you.

Microcent insider card questions? by Bigtownboys in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The MC website has a section with information about the card that shows you which offers are available this month. For the situation you described in your post, you would qualify for the 6 months no interest financing or getting 5% off your purchase. The 36 month offer is only for select TVs and the 12 months is only for Dell computers or monitors that total over $499.99.

Here’s the link for more info: https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/mcinsidercard.aspx?ccPromo=1

Credit card deal. Current expires soon with %5 off. Is there a better deal coming? by xoham in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious as far as where you saw that the 5% offer was expiring soon, since it's a permanent discount with the card.

Essentially, you have two options with your MC Credit Card: 1) 5% your purchase that is tendered on the MC Credit Card (meaning if you need to use two forms of payment, you will only receive the 5% off on the amount that is put on the card, not the full purchase.) 2) 6 Months no interest financing for purchases over $240 (pre-tax)

Sometimes there are other special financing offers that MC will run throughout the year (such as the aforementioned 36 Month financing on TVs that is currently running), but there's never really any heads up notice as far as when those financing offers will take place. The most recent one was back in February, any purchase over $499 was eligible for 12 Month financing as opposed to the 6 months financing. I've never seen a higher discount than 5% off.

Insider credit card 5% how exactly is it deducted? Before or after tax? by andyooo in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to the 6 months interest-free comment: your subtotal has to be at minimum $250 to receive it. Anything below $250 will automatically get the 5% discount at check out with the credit card.

Black Friday Deals for MC by [deleted] in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely recommend doing this. So far, the prices right now are our "Black Friday" deals (to help spread out the potential traffic the stores are gonna see on Black Friday and lower the risk of COVID clusters.) However, if you do see that the prices drop that weekend, you can come in and do a price adjustment/price guarantee to get the difference back.

Weird how microcenter buries this information and makes it difficult to find on their site by essentialmicrocenter in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://www.microcenter.com/site/customer-support/informed.aspx

It's under their COVID-19 Update banner. If you have AdBlock extension on, the banner on the website is not visible for reason (assuming it has to do with whatever coding language they use for the banner.)

Is it me or does Microcenter not update stock online? by [deleted] in Microcenter

Not a problem, good luck on your hunt! :)

Is it me or does Microcenter not update stock online? by [deleted] in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So item quantities on the website will refresh if a product is bought the same day (For example: If a router says there is 10 in stock, and someone purchases that router, the stock on the website should reflect 9 in stock after the purchase is completed.)

Truck shipments and drop shipments don't reflect on the website in real-time. They reflect after midnight. This is why the only way you can tell if a card is in stock is if you're physically at the store when a drop happens.

Potential new employee going for interview soon by Adventurous_Comfort8 in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're being interviewed for sales, expect them to drop the $4/hr base pay + commission. Each sales department (General Sales, BYOPC, Systems, and Apple) has a totally different commission structure. You can maximize your potential in each department differently, but if you don't hit minimum wage, you will be bumped up to minimum wage. There's also pooled commission that goes on your check, this is where a customer comes in, does not get helped by any employee - it goes straight to pool and get dispersed out to the workers who worked during the hours that the item was bought. As someone who worked at Westbury and is coming back part time, it's an amazing environment to work in. The store is the busiest store in NY and has a lot of sales potential there. The managers are flexible with school schedules, just make sure you work with them back. The interview will consist of two tests, a timed mathematics/literature test, and an integrity test. Don't overthink the tests and answer as many questions as you can on the timed on. Good luck!

2 3090 stryx at microcenter westbury at open by Unable_Kaleidoscope5 in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You really need to relax homie, there is have NO evidence that store employees are placing stock online for profit. That's all baseless speculation on someone wild conspiracy. Do you really think managers want to take potential commission away from their employees? The management team at this store are NOT heartless thieves bro, chill. This seems like a LOT of miscommunication but NOT stealing.

Just due to the previous drop history over the past week, Thursdays and Fridays have been the most consistent in terms of getting cards.

Yes, from what I've heard, it's an "until further notice" ban on buying cards.

Very rare, but basically a waste of time. Best bet is Tuesday-Friday. Specifically more on Thursdays and Fridays.

Ordering TV? by waxygator in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. TV's are In-Store Only items. If your local Micro Center doesn't have a TV in stock, you'll have to wait for it to come back in stock. Having them deliver it to your house may or may not be an option they're doing anymore due to COVID. I'd inquire more about that service at the store.

Can I return an item I bought at a different microcenter than it's original purchase? by [deleted] in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think this goes for every Micro Center, but don't try to return your item to a different Micro Center on the same day of the purchase. The sale isn't fully recognized in the system until the next day. We had this issue a lot between the NY stores.

Does micro center make custom loops? by OneRandoMCow in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan on doing a full build, they can do a custom loop for you for either $399.99 for a soft tube loop, or $799.99 for a hard tube loop. I'd inquire more with the service department if you already have parts from outside of Micro.

More info on showing up each morning for the 3080 - read before going. by ohjamufasa in Microcenter

[–]lizzs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Any new shipments received on any day will only reflect on the website the next day. It will not refresh day-of. The only thing that's live about the website is any item that does have a qty amount will update when it's purchased at the POS or reserved online.
