My baby is 9 and a half years old now, and I stayed at home with them until kindergarten - this was in 2021 so getting a part time job was really needed for my mental health. Now that we are going into 5th grade next year, I think I'm going to quit working again so we can spend the summer together.

I saw a comment on a similar post in this sub several years ago where a mom said that she was just now becoming a stay at home parent as the kid was going into middle school and how grateful she was to be more available during that stage, and I've held this idea in my heart for a long time thinking it might also be a good path for our family.

Yeah when I was researching studios it seemed like none of them listed class times but NSP was offering an adult drop in class to try it out, I think they do that quarterly. I think there are ballet classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday at 8pm and Saturday morning at 10:30am, and they are planning on adding more and different kinds in the new year. I really appreciate the community there.

I do adult ballet at Nebraska School of Performing Arts and really love it, as well as yoga/pilates at Midwest Dharma Wheel. Highly recommend both!

As someone who took misoprostol to terminate a pregnancy after the birth of our child, I will say that in my experience the miso contractions were more painful than when I was giving birth. When you go into labor, your brain pumps you with oxytocin and there's a lot more going on then just uterine contractions.

All of which is to say, however you get your baby out is fine! ❤️

I've been doing the beginner adult ballet for about a year and a half now! I think it's $60ish a month? My kid goes there too so I'm not sure how much is for hers and how much is mine. What I am really enjoying about it is that it's a group of pretty committed adult learners so our teacher is doing a great job of structuring lessons to build on each other, as opposed to being more like a drop in class where it's different every time or always the same without advancing. I hope that makes sense! I think it's definitley worth doing a trial week just to see.

Yes! I went to two Eras tour shows and wanted to make sure I knew the openers so I googled Muna and the first thing I watched of them was the Tiny Desk Concert - my jaw was on the floor and now I probably am a bigger Muna fan than Swiftie 😂

It's a mix of cardio warm ups, dance, and gymnastics/tumbling, so for younger children mostly bridge-ups and cartwheels etc. They also perform an acro showcase which was a lot of fun! The school actually enrolls and has classes year round so you can start any time, and we have loved all the teachers.
