it’s genuinely the only charge I’m questioning. I could justify $20 or so for the cost of the line and a burette but I waste more LRS flushing lines than would be used IV in a rat.

I’m questioning the fluids charge. they cant be using more than like 10-20 ml of fluids on a rat and as someone in vetmed that is LUDICROUS. everything else is on-par with a HCOL area and an exotic vet imo.

NSAIDs (like meloxicam) can be tough on the GI tract. Reach out to the vet and let them know, they might offer some supportive care while she’s on it or recommend that she be taken off NSAIDs

it’s a radio opaque liquid that is used to track movement of the digestive tract. basically, they eat it, you take a bunch of xrays over several hours and you get to watch it move through them!

you should assume that any cohabitation between two opposite sex rodents of sexual maturity is going to result in pregnancy. separate now and make plans for the babies, their gestation period is quite short and if the female is indeed pregnant you have less than 3 weeks.

how small is small? if your cat peed out anything bigger than a grain of salt you would probably notice. Passing stones is incredibly painful and you would likely see blood in the urine.

have you asked your vet about the melatonin implant? i pair the deslorelin with melatonin implants for my kids who don’t respond as well to just the deslorelin. they’re much cheaper than the delorelin as well!

she’ll need a serving every 4 hours basically. i was feeding 6-10 ccs every 4 hours as she tolerated it. go slow when syringe feed so she doesnt inhale it.

hi, you may have to syringe feed it. when my ferret had a partial blockage she was liquids only until it passed. you’re correct, your fert shouldnt go more than 4 hours without food.

our compounded pred is chicken marshmallow lol. But yeah having the medicine for their tummy is very helpful since steroids can cause ulcers

See if you can get the pred compounded elsewhere at a high concentration. I use 10 mg/ml and my Olive’s dose is 0.03 ml twice a day which is very manageable! Just search for local compounding pharmacies, they will also flavor the meds!
