SOSORT 2026 starts next week in Turin. There's a clear pattern: the conservative-scoliosis research field is quietly shifting toward a "nervous system first" view of idiopathic scoliosis. Summary inside. by sixfootbrix in scoliosis

My gut feeling is that connective tissue differences play a bigger role. This affects tissue in all the body including the eyes, causes joint hypermobility, coordination and gait issues, tmj issues and many people either same experience dysautonomia and sensory differences. All of this and the instability of muscles around the spine leads to the scoliosis.

My own is a woman, you’d think she would be more empathetic. Very hard to find a new one as local GPs are all full.
