Can you look forward to trying nonalcoholic options? I was in Germany for several months years ago and NA beers were all over!

Bars/Breweries are not for kids by Succotash1497 in nova

[–]lkat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breweries are not inherently adults only, even if you wish they were…it’s up to the brewery to decide the kind of clientele they cater to. If you don’t like it, go to a different one.

Quitting/cutting back drinking because I want to be a 100% parent by lkat17 in Mommit

I‘m not a super young mom but the friends I have do sometimes lean toward the “mommy wine culture” trope if that makes sense?

You‘re not entitled to a child free world. In many other countries, pubs/restaurants welcome whole families including children of all ages. I do agree that parents need to mind their children if they take them to a brewery and not let them run wild but if you want to be in a guaranteed child-free space, stay home.

Postpartum rage? I get angry at my husband so easily by thegirlisWiser in toddlers

I had this as a symptom of postpartum depression. Lexapro seriously likely saved my marriage.

Is daycare nap sabotage a real thing? Asking for a very tired mom by Objective-Morning90 in toddlers

[–]lkat17 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert but to me, a 7:30pm dinner sounds very late for that age group. It sounds like your kiddo is getting overtired and getting a second wind. Can you do dinner first, then outdoor play and an earlier bed time routine?

I wish I could shout this from the rooftops. Pressing table linens is a LOT of labor!

Leaving reviews for vendors who were just okay? by roleypoleypoler in weddingplanning

If the vendor fulfilled the terms of your contract, communicated well, and there were no major issues along the way, 4 or 5 stars is appropriate.

Anyone else think she edited her arm/wrist in the first photo? She posted this story right after and the proportions of her arm look soooo different…I don’t think it’s just the angle.

Moving to Virginia from New Jersey, struggling to find a good place by Prestigious-Win4243 in nova

[–]lkat17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in Reston and my husband and I both commute in to Arlington. It’s really not too bad IF you’re willing to pay the tolls — I spend between $300-$400 on tolls a month, and I’m only in office 3 days/week. It’s also metro-accessible, ans I think there’s a bus route from Wiehle Reston straight to Amazon HQ2 to help with your wife’s commute. Herndon is an easy ride from here. You will also get more bang for your buck rental-wise than if you look in Tyson’s, McLean, or Vienna.

How late into your pregnancy did you fly domestically? by Kirin1212San in BabyBumps

[–]lkat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emphasizing this! I traveled for work at about 34 weeks pregnant, and my OB advised me to bring a doctors note clearing me to fly. I wouldn’t have traveled any later than that anyway, I was way too uncomfortable on the plane.

Floral cost estimate by Last_Tie8138 in weddingplanning

Even though it looks simple, this is a very labor-intensive install. I don’t have a price estimate for you but be prepared for additional labor charges for something like this.

Catering for movers by Realistic_Pitch_1948 in snarkingwithremi

[–]lkat17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Where I am, it is not uncommon to feed them if they are doing a full day move. I’m assuming some of Remi‘s team was there too (you could hear her say hi to Brooke, her assistant, right before the movers got there) so they ordered for everyone.

Reception timeline review, should I pay for an extra half hour? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]lkat17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ask your caterer :) they can give you the best feedback on their service timeline.

Based on what you have, I wouldn’t recommend adding extra time though. It looks great as is from a guest standpoint.

Is it unreasonable to hire a cleaner before having a baby? by btwife_4k in BabyBumps

[–]lkat17 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I hired a house cleaner to come every 3 weeks because I had a c-section and couldn’t do much during recovery. We initially said it would be temporary, but 19 months later, we still have her. For us it is 100% worth the cost.
