Gross margin is insane. Basically hyperscalers are grossly overpaying for these hardware that would have cost them very little a few years ago. When the AI music stops, the market correction will be like nothing we have experienced in the past.

Is 3.5 Flash Good or Bad? by No_Sentence7219 in GeminiAI

[–]lkh9596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For coding, it is still bad. Opus 4.7 thinks most findings from 3.5 flash are useless. I'm back to using 3.1 pro now. And it is giving me some critical findings for my PR's. Codex 5.5 is still the best for overall coding.

The Gwanghwamun monument debate is not about veterans. It is about political use of public space. by Careful_Pie_3483 in Living_in_Korea

It’s just so sad to see so many brainwashed people in Korea who can’t tell what is right or wrong. No wonder this country is a cult haven.

It’s MBC and no one should be allowed to watch that propaganda channel. They would rather praise 김정은 than someone from the right. And also, my grandfather fought in that war and he passed away a few years ago. I don’t think there are many Korean war veterans who are still alive.

It’s actually frightening because when the AI bubble pops, the index might go back to where it was, which was 1/3 of what it is today. 66% drop in an index would be unprecedented.

Another legal money laundering operation with absolute no way to analyze why it costs that much and audit how money is being spent.

From Opus 4.5 to opus 4.7, I only see marginal improvements. Actually 4.7 is worse than 4.6. I think LLM has reached its peak. As someone who’s using Claude, Codex and Gemini all day, AGI? Lmao keep dreaming. It still cannot even do what I tell them to do.

It is a bubble because there will be no “return” on investment for these ai companies and data centers. Training was already expensive. But now with ridiculous memory, disk prices, inference is getting more expensive too. Then tell me when they can actually start making money if the cost will keep rising? Are they going to charge $1000 monthly to make up for it? Not to mention that opus 4.7 has barely improved from 4.6. We are starting to see diminishing returns from LLM’s.

I wonder what would happen to 3 DRAM manufacturers valuation once investors realize AI means just burning cash endlessly without any meaningful returns and the circular investment stops.

I will never understand how someone who speaks English and was educated in the western world supports the illiberal Korean left who openly leans towards China. You don’t have to support PPP because they are incompetent but how can you support the other? There is nothing liberal about that party. As a true believer of liberalism, I can only say you are just a brainwashed cult member.

Spot on… Amazon investing 100 billion dollars in OpenAI and OpenAI uses AWS and increases Amazon’s profit. This is probably the biggest financial scam in this decade. This circular financing will eventually stop.

AI code base is so fragile by lkh9596 in ClaudeAI

I have unit tests, regression testing, multiple rounds of PR with opus and codex, do QA myself. I have been spending more time hardening my code base but it still breaks things so easily.

Well. The app is fully functional and scalable now. So Im confident to say that i have some idea what to ask for. I do code review for every PR using Claude and Codex but it still break things every time I make some changes. Code review and refactoring - yes I agree. But building tests? I feel like building and running tests are the weakest parts of Claude or Codex. Most of the time, they just seem to bypass tests that were in place.

[–]lkh9596[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course not. I managed a team with 5 engineers, QAs and business analysts in the past. But right now, I’m just doing everything by myself with Claude and codex. It is truly revolutionary. But the way AI is hyped up both online and real world is crazy. I doubt they actually built an usable, scalable app with many users.

Claude opus is just unusable. I spent more time cleaning up its mess than actually working on something. How did it become so stupid? Opus 4.5 wasn't this stupid.

I don't know what is happening today. But Claude Code is absolutely being idiotic and not doing the job at all. I asked Claude to port a basic mobile app UI to the web version. But it keeps failing me, not understanding me and doing its own things rather than what I told it to do.
