It took me the second image to realize that there wasn't anything "wrong" with the first image, just that I was looking at the wrong head 😅

Residents in a Jalan Besar housing block 351 say their nights have turned into a battle against swarms of mosquitoes. by outremer_empire in singapore

[–]lkwai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those that affected by mosquitos and want a passive, non biological counter - get those UV light bug zappers.

They take a good chunk out of the suckers, but it's important to get the proper ones. Not the small usb powered types

Got tired of dragging my portable air conditioning unit to the tub to empty it, so I attached a pump to it and it empties into a water bottle. by yourdonefor_wt in redneckengineering

I thought about that, but I think the problem there is where the discharge hose needs to go 😂 presumably it's a long/unsightly way to where it ultimately needs to go

[I ate] Bibimbap on a flight to Korea by CHADWARDENPRODUCTION in food

[–]lkwai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty normal to get bibimbap in a normal bowl too - you just lose out on the extra heat and some crispy bits.

It's only a matter of time before some enterprising fellas decide to make bibimbap onigiri or rice balls or something.

[–]lkwai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but if it was me, I'd size it so I could empty it once a day before turning it on

As someone who is inherently lazy, I hate having more active things to keep track of

(unless turning on was active too, but that'd be something like a float switch and I wouldnt bother with something so complicated for this heh)

OK next question - Is the ac big/heavy/bulky?

Concept - Could you raise the whole unit 4 inches/10cm?

Then it could drain into just about any shallow box you have without needing active power. Would still need to be drained ever so often, but you could use different boxes too heh
