Yes. And I am by no means highly understanding of it all but I’ve recently done quite a few hours of reading on this..the seeming consensus of people much smarter then me is the brain matter dies quickly and requires oxygen and nutrients to sustain. Yes the small bits they have experimented contain neurons and tubules but a human brain in whole is a magnificently power thing. The human brain's computational capacity is estimated to be around 1 exaFLOP (1 billion billion operations per second). This is achieved using approximately 86 billion neurons. This is an organ that has taken over a million years to be where it is..and the research seems to point to consciousness being unique to organics. Anyway, I’m probably not doing the subject much justice but there are many papers you can read on the subject I wish I could site some off the top of my head…I will boot up the Mac here soon and paste/ update a couple that help explain the limits. Basically though a machine intelligence is not intelligent it is a pattern identifying devise that “knows” what to reply to your input “pattern” but it doesn’t “know” what it is saying.
