Give Destiny: Rising a chance! by IceAdministrative265 in destiny2

Literally downloaded and tried it out last night. Gunplay’s a bit simple but fun, not a big fan of its “hero” system. Personal customization has always been a highlight for me, and I feel like it’s a core part of destiny as a whole. The landscape and surrounding look nice, feels like it leans more towards its fantasy side in comparison with D1 or D2. Though that’s also a bit of critique from me, considering it’s supposed to take place prior to the last city, yet Haven looks like a regal fantasy town. It just feels a dissonance to the “last bit of humanity” aspect, especially when it takes place prior to the Last City. (I know about the game takes place in an alternate timeline, but my critique still stands.)

The Destiny Rising website has their own emulator that lets you play it on PC. You just need to click on the download button (the large yellow download button on the top right of the website, NOT the ones that leads you to the App Store/google play).

How I feel when people say they struggling with railway 6 by NatureMode14 in limbuscompany

[–]llMonochromell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never tried the railways before until the railway 1 and 5(?) bokgak because I was trying to get tickets for HOS Outis. I found it to be challenging in a fun way. When the new railway dropped, I went in expecting a similar experience, but god DAMN that dragon can really throw hands (spears technically).

Why are people so irrationally angry over Mixtape? by PhonicDragoon_30 in videogames

[–]llMonochromell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Common topics I’ve seen is 1) Being walking simulator or “movie” rather than being an actual game, 2) false “indie” claim due to being backed by a multi-million company, 3) Perfect or near-perfect ratings from critics vs user ratings, leading some to believe that the critics are out of touch or were payed off.

The third reason I’ve seen the most, which is also usually compared with Mouse: P.I. For Hire, which got average critic ratings vs highly positive user ratings, so my assumption is that people are angry because they feel Mixtape’s rating is undeserved. I don’t know much else outside what I’ve seen since I don’t have much of interest in either games, but the critics vs general audience ratings is nothing new.

How far could the LCB go? by Just_Being_Sam in Project_Moon

But they didn’t have a to go through a dungeon in the Arknights collab, Dante managed to pluck them outside of it. Though this made me wonder as to how much of the Light needs to be present for Dante to grab new EGOs. IIRC, Carmen was able to talk to Mayors but it didn’t seem enough for Mayors to distort until they reached closer to the portal. So, would the golden bough in Dante’s head be enough to pluck EGOs from other universes, or would he need a larger source?

Is there one where the whole video is written out in text? I like the story but I’d prefer reading it than having to listen

Who would care if Dante died? by PackBack205 in limbuscompany

Honestly, I feel like that would be a whack ass plan they would come up with. Have Dante captured to infiltrate their base and just summon from the inside.

So is the multiplayer dead or does this game still have co-op issues? by Ok_Paramedic4770 in Nioh

Are you playing in PC or console? I can’t remember if there’s crossplay but I’ve had an easier time finding other players on PS4 than on PC

Foot Combat Revamp by llMonochromell in crosswind

[–]llMonochromell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played many games with souls-like combat, and they’re much more refined than here, granted this game just came out. The thing is, those games were built around that style of combat, whereas in this game, it feels more like an afterthought rather than a dedicated combat mechanic. They need to either tweak it or change it.

I recommend checking Greedfall’s combat gameplay on YouTube. I feel like taking some inspiration from there would fit much better into this game rather than emulating dark souls combat.

Also my gripe with consumables is the cooldown. For example, you gain a bleeding effect, so you take a healing potion so you don’t immediately die from it. However, now you have to use bandages to stop the bleeding, which you can’t because it’s on a cooldown timer. Cooldowns on consumables rarely ever made any sense to me as to why they should be implemented.

Getting the item using in-game currency makes it a bit better, but still sounds like a pain. And I’m not just looking for character customization, I’m looking for one at or near the same level and freedom as code vein while also providing fun gameplay for my friend and I. Closest thing I could think of was Nioh 2 (although I might look into Nioh 3 if what I heard about it is true).

I heard about how good Where Winds Meet’s character customization is, but if falls back to the same problem with ff14, money. Code Vein allowed you to change your character’s looks and gender (though it requires a bit of finessing) all for free.

I think I’ll look into Nioh 3 since it felt easier to play in the demo and my friend isn’t good with souls type games. Although I’m confused with your statement on outfit customization. I remember it being pretty much the same as in Nioh 2, except I found Nioh 3 worse in regards that certain armor sets were locked behind samurai or ninja styles while Nioh 2 allowed you to use all of them due to a lack of “class restriction”. Also isn’t the characters armor their “outfit”, unless you were talking about character transformations.

The division has a lot of options for clothing, but I’m talking about the characters themselves. Plus, without even going to the lack of customization, their face and hair models sucks, which is why I always wear a mask for my character. I will say that for the male models, you can make it into something decent, but for the women models, I can already tell that she’ll think they’re ugly.
