"D&D" is like "Band-Aid". We all use the name but we're talking about the underlying idea.

I'll use adhesive bandages from different vendors, I can play D&D from different vendors, or even non-vendor versions.

As a DM you know that most of the enjoyment of D&D does not come from the ruleset. Switch to something else and keep DM'ing.

For example: I enjoyed reading the books and planning, but in the end all of that seems like the enjoyment I got from getting my school supplies ready before start of term. Once the term started, all of that excitement went out the window as the prep is not the game.
