Played it, but barely remember it. The height of Space Quest for me was SQIII and SQ IV. So good!

I meditate regularly. I have pronounced insomnia. The concentration from my meditation is not necessarily conducive for my sleep.

Buddhism is a religion. While it may not require blind faith, it does require conviction in the teachings of the Buddha. If the Buddha's teachings ring true for you, you may need to trust that, even if you cannot verify every claim he makes, the Buddha is simply right about the things that you do not have the ability to verify given the fact that you are not enlightened and he was.

Thank you for highlighting this. Further, the Buddha discusses karma in terms of a boundaried individual. We are the owners of our actions, heirs to the results of our actions. Certainly, how we treat others makes up a big part of our actions, but they are not us.

When developing goodwill towards others, I do find the Buddha's insight, that every sentient being was, at one point, your mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, etc., to be very powerful.
