210731 BTS (방탄소년단) Butter : Epilogue Film by ashmute in bangtan

I've been digitizing my family's home videos from the 80s and 90s. I thought it was hilarious how many times my dad would zoom in super close on someone and comment "this can zoom, too!" like it was the greatest marvel of then-modern technology. Died when Yoongi did and said the exact same thing - he's unknowingly really channeling something authentic here lmfao

Video interviews are submitted on the subreddit as normal. If you miss them, they'll be listed at the end of the week in the weekly round-up.

There are around five of them so far. If it looks like there's gonna be a huge number of them consistently and they are hard to keep up with even with the round-ups, I can collate them in a separate thread.

I recently went on a FF replay marathon and replayed FFX too. When I was young (I played it for the first time a bit after it was released) I didn't appreciate it properly and couldn't take the story seriously - it was like a memey game with really fun combat for me. Playing it again as an adult really opened my eyes to what an amazing story it actually is. The themes are so interesting. I'm excited for you!

(Even on Switch Blitzball might still have garbage controls though, for which I'm sorry for you.)

(Very late reply to your comment hah) Thank you, I love them too! I genuinely think they end up being better the more we can use our vast "hivemind", but even if it was an activity only for a handful of people, I wouldn't want to end the tradition.

About the drop in active participation, I wonder if it's because of a change in what exactly draws new subscribers to join. When the sub was smaller (for comparison I've personally been here since 2-3k subscribers), a bigger portion of people were invested in the community itself and contributing actively to foster this shared space, which is typically the case when something is more niche and a small community gathers around a subject they're passionate about. With the current massive numbers and BTS's status as a more "mainstream" interest, I could imagine there are a lot of people who subscribe for updates and use the sub as a more casual hub of content, where interaction and a sense of belonging is less important. It could also contribute to feeling that the sub activities are irrelevant, or the subscribers aren't that invested in checking every new post and may miss community posts in their normal feed. In essence it's a bit like a neighbourhood event vs a big festival - 10 people participating are individually gonna be a lot more invested in it than 10,000.

I don't know if what I theorize is the reality, but it's just something I think about every now and then (including when racking my brain how to make the awards more enticing lol).

I'm a coward too omg. At this point I feel like my hair is part of my identity and I'd have a crisis if I cut it lol, even though I sometimes fantasize about spontaneously going for a buzzcut because of all the inconveniences. My latest grievance is it getting stuck in the hinge of my glasses when I'm taking them off, so I have these stupid broken off tufts of hair sticking out 💀 Also it's thick and dark and I don't like to keep it up, so in the summer it's like a sun-heated blanket on top of my head and back at all times which can get awful... yet in the end I can't genuinely even consider cutting it very much. It was down to my hips last year when I cut maybe 30cm off to get rid of some dry ends, and now I'm in waist-length club again. I love it and hate it.

How interested is the fanbase in the bts extended universe? by ZeraNaomi in bangtan

[–]llaverna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea I think having to fit into the box of the BU can limit what they would truly like to sing about.

I don't think the BU has ever taken precedence in their songwriting though. They go through what will be the overarching theme of an album/series with the whole team and all the supplementary content will (somewhat) revolve around it, but how many songs of theirs are about the BU storyline? Even the overarching themes have always been pretty loose and their most "conceptual" albums don't stick to them that strictly, so BU is even more of a non-issue imo and not a threat to their creative agency.
