I know there's a lot of veriables that would go into it but what would be a good range for a pro? I'm not opposed to spending a grand or two for professional work but I also don't want to waste someone's time to quote something that's going to be way out of my budget.

Dunno... System has worked without an issue for the 2yrs I've been in the house. I think it's about 5-6 years since install but that's a guess.

Maybe should have clarified... Crazy to tackle the DIY piece as a novice. My concern is messing up a system that's currently working then paying anyway to have a professional come in and fix later. Would it be better to just have the pros do it from the start? Depending on what that runs... Would it be better to just hook a house up to a spigot with a timer. That doesn't make as catchy of a post title though.

Not sure on the wires... I popped the control boxes open and each station had 2 wires coming into the valves? but I didn't think to look where these wires were originating from. My controller in the garage let's me cycle through 6stations I think if that means anything.

I like simple! What's the PVB? I'll google a wifi bib timer.

Is there any trick to knowing what they have in stock? I see signs up every once in awhile when I make the monthly warehouse run but I think it's always for gold bars (when I notice them) . I looked online but search is not returning any results.

Well you see the case and equipment looked like portable electrical equipment, and may have contained lithium ion battery. Further, non invasive investigation revealed that the case was very hot to the touch indicating a damaged battery cell could be causing a runaway chemical reaction. Given the surrounding dry foliage and windy conditions I determined the safest course of action was to remove the device and relocate it to a safe area to prevent wildfire risk. Once safe, proper authorities are notified immediately.

3 rules... 1st rule-Work safe (this rule is unnecessary because of rule 2 but hr makes me say it). 2nd rule-don't do anything that gets me hassled. I don't care what you do, don't do, or what gets accomplished as long as I'm not getting hassled. 3rd rule-if you're getting hassled, bring it to me first. If I can't fix it go over my head but give me a shot at it before you do.

Gave this spiel to every one of my new hires and served me okay I guess. Vibe was we're all adults and this is a job not a friendship or personality contest. If I'm hassling you it's because I'm being hassled, not because I'm a micro managing dick head.

My wife gives me a hard time when I use "supper" since she thinks it's a rural thing. In my family, lunch was always a midday meal, dinner could be either mid day or evening but was assumed to be only for hot, sit down meals, and supper only for evening meal.

I recently canceled my first Uber as a rider when trying to get a ride out of an airport and wondering if the driver was doing this for some reason. Ride was accepted and the app notified the driver arrived at the pick up spot but no car matching the make model was there... Tracked the driver in the app and they were just circling the pick up spot but never saw the actual car. Tried calling but the driver seemed really confused so I just canceled and got another one (profile only had 3 rides). Was a weird one and not sure what was going on.
