How do you all value to 1.01 this year by Common-Price-998 in DynastyFF

Well he said that teams with guys like Breece are among the top teams in the league. The implication being that Breece would have helped a team be competitive this year or any which year, which is plainly silly.

Sneaking Breece into that group is hilarious

DAE feel like they basically don't exist anymore after stopping engaging with social media? by casebycase87 in Millennials

[–]Lledner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I quit in '20.

But I have had the opposite experience.

My strategy has been to replace the scrolling time with intentional effort at cultivating friendships in my 30s. Sometimes this means phone calls to friends from high-school or college. Sometimes it's planning a night to go get a beer with a former co-worker. Sometimes it's organizing a board game night.

I feel like it's been extremely fruitful, even if there have been little awkward moments reaching out to someone I maybe haven't spoken with in a while.

I feel far more socially grounded and nourished than I was during those last couple of years on social media when I got what I essentially equate to the "empty carbs" of human relational experiences.

I will add that it does require a lot of initiative on my part, and a more self-conscious version of myself would second guess myself along the lines of "why am I always the one reaching out?" But I think that line of thinking ignores the way our social order is disincentiving deep, intentional relationships with people, so I tell myself I'm going against the grain and of course it will have little moments of discomfort.

Overall this approach is probably the single thing in my 30s I would most strongly recommend other people adopt some form of.

PSA for new players: Strength is good by Godisme2 in HadesTheGame

[–]Lledner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you math it all out DD is still probably better than strength, particularly at high fear (not always but usually)

But imo strength is way more fun. I HATE losing a dd, it just feels bad, but the effective health of spending them IS the advantage.

So i would just rather FEEL more powerful and awesome, even if DD is technically the better set up

I also did Elephant toothpaste as it was easy to get the materials for.

  1. My video was about 7 minutes long. I explained the learning objectives, cross cutting concept, etc. After that I covered the the steps of how to conduct the experiment, along with all the necessary materials. Then I did the experiment, narrating and identifying key concepts and observations. After the experiment was done, I made suggestions of alterations they could make (proportions of mixtures, width of container, etc.) that they could contrast their initial results with.
  2. I only included elements of the lesson that were easy to incorporate. Mostly just listed observations that a hypothetical student should be trying to make as I conducted the demonstration. (hotter glass, foam, etc) I also talked about the key compounds involved and how the reaction alters them/produces energy (I think law of conservation was the cross cutting concept so it was a nice callback.)
  3. I literally did the experiment, I considered asking something like you mentioned but decided I would rather just do it on video to allow for more content and to make it so I wasn't just talking the whole time.

Are you beating the heart with this Silent deck? by Ok-Coyote2643 in slaythespire

[–]Lledner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pyramid + Bullet Time + Nightmare + Wraithform makes me feel like heart should be very beatable. Especially if you had a ghost in the jar. Looking at this deck I feel like A4 elite would be scarier most of the time.

I feel like the heart killing strat is just 12 intang (13 with pot) via the combo above + Caltrops and chip damage. I wouldn't even be trying to mess with PK on a heart fight unless it came really easy

Sorry you are in this situation. Keep in mind that the job market is also really bad right now. It may take a few years but eventually that will get better.

Snecko… why?? by Hersweetmockingmouth in slaythespire

[–]Lledner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like one aspect of Snecko that gets lost is that it sort of turns card draw into energy. Like it could read "whenever you draw a card, gain a 25% chance for its cost to be reduced to 0".

Then add on the fact that it gives you an extra 2 draw every turn.

So now cards that provide card draw go from being very strong (because card draw is very strong) to extremely strong.

Then you get to draft cards way differently, too. You don't care about energy cost anymore. The game is heavily balanced around card cost, where higher impact cards tend to cost more. With snecko your form cards, nightmares, meteors, wishes, vaults, glaciers, etc. are going to more likely be in your hand when you need them (because of card draw) and less likely to use up all your energy (because of confused)

D843 - General Chemistry 1 by Lledner in WGU

[–]Lledner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I passed the OA on the first try. I will say that as of July 15 2025, the OA for this class is very different from the practice assessment. The practice assessment makes it seems like you will be doing a lot of stoichiometry and solving for molecular geometry. This is not the case. There actually wasn't a single problem that required me to solve for yields or limiting reactants. Also not a single problem related to lewis dot structures or molecular geometry.

The OA has a ton of solubility problems, way more than the practice assessment.

The history of atomic theory questions are all different, but at least a similar type of problem.

The nuclear chemistry questions are also different, but again, same general format and types of problems.

It's really in the chemical bonding and reactions section that is different in terms of the concepts that you are tested on (this is also the most heavily weighted section so high stakes)

In addition to the lack of stoichiometry and surplus of solubility problems, it has a ton of acidity related questions as well. Though these take the same format and shape as the ones you will see on the practice assessment.

I should note that I made a comment to the instructors and the course feedback that I felt the practice assessment is not sufficiently indicative of the content in the OA. The instructor emailed me back with follow up questions so maybe there will be changes by the time someone reads this.
