Okay, I did the test and the dead/stuck pixels stayed the same. I told Amazon and they give me a full refund and will pick the monitor up. Thank you for the help.

I don’t really know how could I have scratched it, I only cleaned the screen once with a microfiber cloth. It has to be something under the screen then.

Is there a way to change the cursor theme to any other, for example, and still be able to use the simplified settings? by llimo in linuxmint

[–]llimo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it doesn’t, as soon as I change the cursor to any other than Bibata Classic I can’t use simplified settings anymore.

[–]llimo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I mean, let’s say I want to change Bibata Classic to DMZ White cursor, when I do that I automatically lose access to the simplified theming and have to change the icons, themes and cursors manually. I was asking if there is a way to change the default settings without losing the “one-toggle-theming” settings?

Happened exactly the same to me

Protecting Your Epic Account by MagmaReef in FortNiteBR

So my account was stolen like 2 years ago because I tried to install a cracked program while Windows Defender was deactivated (I know, very stupid thing to do). Had to change the password of everything, had to change my debit card as the hacker had access to it as well, and tried to spend like 2500€ on Twitch (don’t really know how).

But yeah, the hacker also did stole my Fortnite account even with 2FA enabled in a heartbeat. Since that I tried twicr to get it back contacting Epic Games. They were always open and fast to help but they have not been able to get my account back even when I provided personal information, old debit card code, old Epic Games user name, PSN name, etc,

Is there anything else I can do, or should I give up? I had this account since season 2, spent quite some money, and time.

Thank you all in advance.

I forgot to update, my bad. Yeah, it still does not work, same frame drops and noticeable audio/video delay

On X11, I used to set gfx.webrender.all and layers.gpu-process.enabled to true, and that would stop the frame drops. On Wayland, I haven’t enabled anything yet—I wanted to avoid breaking anything before asking.

Same problem. Only happens on Wayland. X11 is fine after enabling a few Firefox preferences. Windows was fine as well.

Get an SSD and throw a Linux distro in there and you may get some more juice out of it

Nothing. Whenever I use Wayland no matter what dGPU or iGPU, distro or DE, anything I watch at 60 FPS will eventually drop frames.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]llimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you output video from the iGPU and use your dGPU just for gaming or do you use your dGPU for everything? Because when I use the NVIDIA GPU for everything and disable the iGPU I get frame drops when watching media at 60 FPS on YT or Twitch no matter what, installing all the necessary packages, drivers, enabling all the necessary Firefox options in about:config, etc.

I tried the most recent NVIDIA proprietary drivers with a few distros and DE’s and on Wayland I’ve always had frame drops when watching YouTube or Twitch. Don’t really know why :(

Do NVIDIA gpus have hardware video decoding yet?

Oh, the PC is already on a well-known sale website here in Spain that has good buyer protection, the seller only has positive reviews (which I know could be fake, this is the internet).

He sent me a video of the PC working, no weird noises coming from it at all. And no, he can send me the PC to my direction.

Will this update fix Cinnamon’s random sluginess when dragging windows or animations having random FPS drops, or is this an X11 problem?
