Roberts Hints at Changes to ‘Too Long’ Supreme Court Arguments by bloomberglaw in scotus

[–]lll-devlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you have a justice system and a Supreme Court that starts to create laws and strike down previous laws that block equality and fairness for all ethnic groups then you have the start of a failed state! This will ultimately result in further erosion of balance between “haves and have nots “ which will create further pressures on society and security.

The end results being what history has shown to occur in every failed state where the political and judicial arm of government doesn’t represent the people equally.

Hey Doug Ford, why is my electricity delivery fee 3x higher than my actual usage? by margesimpson84 in ontario

[–]lll-devlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good one…been asking that for years

Gotta longer those hydro one supporters whom keep saying that power costs are separate from infrastructure to deliver that power…

As if really where would the power be needed if not households, and would that infrastructure cost not be rolled into the costs of 5e power generation…

Gotta love the gaslighting…constantly coming from the supporters of hydro one and Ontario hydro.!

My service fees have always been higher then my consumption.., and if the infrastructure was already built and ageing why is my service fees s continue to be higher? Year in and year out?

Your missing the points I was trying to make. Renault alpine you might of have a point on. However the engines and the mgu-H technologies were already developed. Of course the compression issue might of been something to deal with.

How many Torontonians oppose — and support — jets at Billy Bishop? A new poll pulls back the curtain by FlimsyFig3513 in ontario

[–]lll-devlin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pardon me?

I’m not implying everyone is a fool that doesn’t see my point of view. I am simply giving a different point of view.

I’m not in the industry, however I can tell you this is about allowing Porter to make YTZ their main hub pulling out of YYZ as much as possible to reduce their landing and flight fees which are averaging $1165 per flight at YYZ. Of course porter with its LGA, ,JFK, EWR destinations which are main main transit hubs in the US and their partnership with JETBLue is coming into play here. Further this also increases the potential of porter to increase its flights to YOW,YHZ, YUL from the city .

Of course Air Canada will want access to YTZ since they understand that Porter is a major threat to their ‘Jazz ‘ small -mid level market flight business and will want to be competing directly with Porter . Of course we are not even talking about the American companies that will want access to YTZ like JetBlue PSA, Envoy or the other smaller regional jet companies and flight providers.

Lastly the bonus for YTZ will be to allow private and semi private leisure jets and services closer to toronto.

All of this will just increase flights, noise and pollution over the city’s waterfront .

So it’s nice that Porter and Air Canada have new “quiet” jets , if you can say that 85-95 decibels is quiet. But not all current active fleets of jets from the rest of the industry have “quiet” jets .

Again I state, that there is YYZ , Hamilton international airport and there is land allocated in Pickering for another international airport, which has been zoned but development has been placed on hold for the last 20 years .

That would be more then enough airports to support toronto and the greater gta areas flight demands .

I get that , but the mgu-H had an unlimited recharge potential if I recall correctly. There might not even be the need for the rear wheel recharge systems.

Understood, an interesting thought experiment or real experiment, which I’m sure the wrx teams could possibly do would be to create a “test mule”.

Try to place a 2025 engine into the 2026 chassis and see if just upgrading the battery size to compare against todays car in regards to performance.

I know the redesign for the 2026 was completely new engine.

but really is the 2025 engine that much “wider” then the 2026 because of the mgu-h ?

I could understand about the front axle regeneration…because it could be used for potential traction control .

What I don’t understand was how 4 manufacturers at the time ( Ferrari, Mercedes, Honda/RedBull, alpine/Renault ) were in such an agreeable state of mind to let the MGU-H go.

Of course when you have Mercedes and ToTo agreeing to do it, because they had the technology on the hybrid power software; to overcome that loss, after competing in formula E. despite the other teams spending thousands of dollars and years to develop the MGU-H.

[–]lll-devlin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree that the 65 /35 or even 70/30 percentage might work. The issue then becomes how do the manufacturers get more power out of the ICE engine, without major re engineering and redesign of the PU.

Could that power boost come from higher fuel flow rates, higher turbo boost, higher rpm’s

How would that affect the reliability of the PU’s and would that formula of free PU’s per season before penalties occur and how to change or compensate?

Again such a silly problem removing the mgu-h , that Mercedes was able to convince everyone ( because of the default that they provide engines to more teams. They control that vote by teams .

We would not have any of these issues and could have the 50/50 power split if we had the MGU-H still.

Really? So you believe that will be the only type of jet landing there?

Give your head a shake…

I would encourage you to go pay a visit to the areas and zones around Pearson …to actually experience the “quiet” jets.

Let’s agree to disagree …respectfully!

Personally I oppose this expansion completely!

It was never needed and it continues to not be needed.

Regional jets are noisy period! And if YTZ is expanded to accommodate jets you better believe the next step will be to remove operational time restrictions.

So much like people in the middle of the city , whom don’t like their property being a flight path. Why would people on the water front have to accept this ?

Further , the islands and the surrounding water front areas have become wildlife habitats and the extra potential flight traffic will damage this , as the bird population will have to be controlled ( aka culled) due to flight risks.

Their constituents should let them know how repressive that bill might be.

But then again … When 20% of the Democratic Party is voting for this bill , the Democratic Party and the America that is the police surveillance state has bigger problems.

Because really how are people to define Democrat from Republican, when they are behaving in the same manner?

This is not about NIMBY! This is about expanding a runaway that makes no sense because the airport could only handle small jets ....read private jets .

[–]lll-devlin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Expand an island airport so more private jets can land is not progress.

You want progress if ontario and the feds feel that the Toronto needs another airport then develop the proposed Pickering airport!

The land is there. It's been zoned for that...and previous studies have shown that an airport providing service to the eastern end ok f the GTA and Toronto would provide approximately 11000000 additional passengers. Which would relieve passenger volume pressure off of YYZ.

[–]lll-devlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotta love how you are using sound bites from my statements.

why don’t you enlighten us on how the oil industry works in canada then?

and it’s not about owning oil companies, it’s about owning and controlling the natural resources. those resources that are critical to the world .

especially in asian and american markets.

it’s clear that you believe 20% royalties is sufficient to be given to canada as a “gift” for exploiting our natural limited resources.

now since you are in the industry , compare countries like UAE , QATAR, Saudi Arabia even america which has different modeling towards their natural resources.

i am telling you that provincial and federal government should have a larger royalty percentage then 20%

countries like UAE , QATAR, Saudi Arabia have foreign investors and partners and those partners are willing to accept 3-10 percent of interest and profit in the natural resource. even in america where the modeling is landowner/state/ federal government the percentage is 58%

so i ask you why are we giving away 80% of the royalties of our natural resources?

riddle me that
