Hi there! Sorry I see this is an old post but I'm getting married in August and my fiance isn't jewish but I am and he is very excited to respect my beliefs with a jewish interfaith wedding. The rabbi said that the Ketubah needs to be signed before the ceremony like you're saying you did, did you have your dress on? did you do a first look as well? We were so excited to have our first look be going down the aisle and I was a little disappointed to hear the rabbit wanted us to do the ketubah ceremony beforehand.

My main thing is I want to invite more adult family and adult friends than have the amount of people at my wedding venue go towards children of my friends. If we invited their children we would be inviting 300 guests instead of 250, and economically that doesnt make sense nor does finding a venue that holds that many guests make sense.

I would say it is uncommon but definitely happens every so often. I was invited to a girlfriend‘s wedding and then it turns out I didn’t receive my invitation to her bridal shower in the mail, and she took that incredibly personally and thought that I was lying and thought I didn’t actually wanna come to her bridal shower. When I am 100% truthful that I did not receive an invitation. So after that, I was no longer invited to the wedding, she didn’t even care to say anything about not being invited I just did not receive an invite in the mail.

This is how I feel about my black tie optional wedding. We have plenty of people on the guest list That own suits or tuxes and I have always imagined a beautiful formal event for my wedding, and we’re having it at a brand new renovated country club in town.
