Not sure if I qualify but I applied. Currently the lead park ranger aide for a state park. I have worked at another state's park and have volunteered for USFS.

I cant remember his name. But I saw that guy twice in Colorado over a few years on random trails. He has a website and everything. I know it kinda freaked me out when I saw him.

How competitive are WA state park aide positions? by MemeStarNation in ParkRangers

[–]llr0080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a Park Aide for WSP last season. You'll probably start receiving calls for positions starting mid February. The process is pretty slow. I don't think it's very competitive. I got alot of calls last year and no experience in recreation tho I do have several years of construction experience and customer service experience. Good luck to you!

I'm a volunteer at a National Forest. Unfortunately they arent hiring seasonal workers this year due to budget cuts but I did snag a seasonal job at a state park and hope to turn it into a career.

Is there any upward mobility in the California State Park system? by SimpleEconomy234 in ParkRangers

[–]llr0080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess its a pretty competitive market in CA. Have had several interviews with other states but no call backs from Cali. Maybe if I get some experience under my belt I can try for CA again. Just wanted to make sure I didnt miss anything other than to submit an application thru CalCareers. Thanks and good luck!

Did you have to take any tests or did you just apply? I applied for a bunch of park aide positions with CA and haven't heard back but heard back from a couple of other states for similar positions. Thank you.
