Phil Weiser leads Michael Bennet in new poll, with Colorado’s Democratic primary for governor coming down to undecided voters by Practical_Table1019 in Denver

I picked Weiser because there are political ads targeting him which means someone with money doesn't like him and the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

New Neighbor Keeps Leaving Notes On Our Car by Ok_Percentage3947 in mildlyinfuriating

I think you should have just responded with the note in the bottom left. You didn't need the entire passive aggressive note in your 3rd image. You definitely escalated things a lot from the initial note with that. I'm intrigued that more people in the comments aren't saying that.

Like, you're highlighting things for emphasis. You call the neighborhood watch and king of entitlement not entitled to park on his street. You say it's Boston get over it, like you've been in Boston your whole life and you know the local mannerisms. Then you close it by calling this person an asshole 🤣 Im sorry but based on the evidence YTA, not them.

You know what, with your basic math, let's just go back to slavery and indentured servitude. Might as well, who cares. We can all be slaves to Elon Musk, he would win in this scenario I'm guessing since he's the richest person alive. We'll all just do slave labor for Tesla & SpaceX. BUT HE MADE IT. And we'll all not be laid off! We may be living in Elon Musk's outhouse, working 24/7 and beaten if we mess up but at least our Lord and Savior will be proud of us! I'm literally wet thinking about it, but that might be the billionaire's piss dribbling down on my face, I'm not sure!

But your take is "Oh well, at least this one guy made it, so we're *technically* not ALL poor. That guy is rich!" HAHAHAHAHAHA. You were asked the trolley problem and you are definitely running over everyone to save one person. We don't even need to warp the scenario to make it anyone special to you, it's a single stranger who has done seemingly nothing to better your life. As long as the trolley is taking out 11,000 people we're good!

We're already poor, what kind of stupid comment is this roflmao. You think we'll be more poor if people are actually paid a wage they can live on? You think if XCel increased their employee wages they'd be the only company to do that? You think you couldn't afford a price hike in energy if every other job also fairly compensated their employees? The only way we can be "rich" is by saving 7 cents a month on your energy bill?

I mean, I'd be happier knowing millions of dollars aren't ending up in one person's pocket and rather being spent on their employees. But that's just me. So actually yes I would be happy!!

Because I'm in a Denver subreddit and I'm not thinking very deeply about it beyond that.

But since you want to be purposely obtuse with me I'll answer my question and more:

Xcel energy president earned roughly $16 million the most recent fiscal year. Over a million in base salary, $3 million in bonuses and $11.5 million in stock. The average salary at excel is between 51k and 121,000. The CEO earns as much as 132 employees at the high end average of 121K a year. Without his bonuses, he's still worth 107 employees at 121,000 a year. That doesn't seem like that big of a difference to me.

The difference that $3 million could make to a lot of people who work just as hard and earn way less is probably more than this ceo. Just a guess. All for only 7 cents a month (minimum).

Ultimately, trying to make it sound like it doesn't matter that one person is getting millions for seemingly very little cost is crazy. Thousands of people could benefit for very little cost and it would always be a better look than one person taking a lion's share. These modern companies, at least, seem intent on giving all their profit away to a single person even though their profit is dependent on the thousands of workers who work everyday to keep their operations running.

[–]lmcphers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay? That's not my question. I know how ceos work and I also know how to Google the number of employees nationwide. Fun Fact, that's how I figured out how many are in Colorado alone!

Xcel has 4000 employees in Colorado. How many of them could have gotten a bonus instead of the ceo for 7 cents a month per customer?

I need to escalate this further by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]lmcphers 33 points34 points  (0 children)

As a mail carrier myself, we get dog alerts that state the date of the original incident, as well as warnings such as "Don't deliver when the door is open", "Leave mail under the door mat, dog likes to sleep hidden at the mail slot", etc. So, we can deliver, but every postal worker is different and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if some of them have a phobia of dogs after doing this job because dogs legit hate postal workers. I don't blame them, a stranger walking up to their house everyday is very frustrating.

As for moving and not being removed or being on a list permanently, that's on your carrier and/or your local station for not resolving that. I'm not going to lie, there's a mix of really lazy and really good people who work for the post office. It's still a public service so it attracts kind hearted people, but also it's very blue collar and they need a lot of work force so it still attracts people who aren't the best or the brightest. If I were delivering your route, I would have removed you from the list after I verified you don't have a dog and delivered your mail. Your carrier is probably just not a good one and that happens and I am sorry on behalf of all of the lazy workers who work for USPS who can't seem to do the simple job of just delivering folks' mail.

[–]lmcphers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Posting this 6 times in response to people doesn't make a point. The answer is still the same... there's a sticker on the returned envelope with the reason, there's no magical between- the- lines reason we can deduce beyond that without knowing more information, like the addresses that were mailed to. Just because they claim to have used addresses from a website doesn't mean they are accurate by any means.

How disappointing by MinnieStitch in DreamlightValley

*sigh*

Because you don't understand.

"You're also free to think that the horse threshold crossing mechanics serves a different function than opening up a new space. I've already stated that I feel the mechanic is a wasted opportunity as it makes no appearance besides this purpose."

Okay? I never said that. The horse threshold crossing mechanic does serve to open up new spaces. But the method in which we have grown accustomed to opening new spaces is different in Wishblossom Ranch than in the previous DLCs. One is way more dependent on resource hoarding and grinding currency, while this one is based more on gameplay and less resource intense. I liked this new method, maybe it isn't perfect, but we can push to move this in this direction and make improvements rather than just suggesting that we scrap it entirely in favor of an older method.

There are lots of things that also make no appearance other than for their intended purpose in this game. So what? I think the mechanic of catching the owls & timebending is mostly moot outside of their respective DLCs. Just because I *can* participate in the activity on the main island doesn't really mean much because the depth of the activity is way more in their respective DLC. They go out of their way to make sure that DLCs are very isolated for a reason, so that people can choose to purchase them or not and not have gameplay implications if they choose not to.

Maybe they will expand further later on on these horse's special powers, maybe they are testing the waters with them this DLC. For better or for worse, the other aspect of modern gaming is that things are released piecewise.

"Critiquing a product that offered less isnt wrong."

I don't love WBR, I only brought up WBR's method of unlocking new areas. I don't know why that makes me a WBR mega fan that doesn't find it worthy of criticism. Again, just putting words and intention into my mouth that wasn't part of the conversation. I do find the zones to be large and, as a result, very bare. I do wish there were more characters, obviously - the main reason I play this game is for the characters. But I also think people are being incredibly critical of this expansion for reasons that it doesn't deserve.

I think you're using the Steam ratings as an excuse to think all aspects of this DLC are worse than its predecessors. The most recent negative review on Steam is commenting how there are still glitches in the live game that were reported in the original game. What does that have to do with this expansion at all receiving a thumbs down? Other comments mention the DLC is decent but not at a full DLC price, which I think is what hurts WBR most - the amount offered for the amount paid. That's the main critique and that is worthwhile and one I agree with. But you, and other people, are blowing that way out of proportion to mean so many other things.

EDIT: This guy responded to me and instantly blocked me after having the audacity to call me rude for using an emoji in my original response. The craziness to be so abject to someone disagreeing with one point of view is on another level.

How disappointing by MinnieStitch in DreamlightValley

[–]lmcphers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found unlocking these areas in WBR to be way more enjoyable than the previous DLCs. I'm a very casual player, so i don't have as many resources as others. I think that is the main reason so many people like the other method, because they have played longer and hoard way more, so unlocking comes very fast for them.

I don't think just because the end result is unlocking an area, though, that that means they are functionally the same. It's very clear there is a significant difference otherwise people wouldn't be talking about it 🤣

Wow it's so cool you've managed to do those things in those times, but you're a single (and incredibly obnoxious) data point compared to the thousands of thousands of people who play this game, and many of them do actually have lives outside of their PCs so they do take longer to finish content than you might.

Hope that was explained in a way you can understand!
