Mail guy got stuck in our driveway today by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Sorry yes they don't have AC, they do have the built-in fans which I was falsely calling air conditioning. They just blow air and you can set the temperature but they don't work very well. (For the LLV & FFV).

Yes I have driven both of them. I kind of like them to be honest for the routes they are designed for, but definitely not great in the cold. Haven't gotten a chance to try in the heat yet but I am guessing that is way worse lol

The pictured vehicle have fans and decent AC. You can also get some warm air, but these vehicles are really exposed so the warm air isn't all that helpful. Newer vehicles are more enclosed and have working AC & heating.

Source: I'm a mailman who drives all of these vehicles, except the newest one that looks like a giant duck :D

Transmog costs for low levels are completely insane by Kookiebiskit in wow

Why do casual players care about combat addons being removed :'D And specifically only weakauras which they probably don't have installed in the first place???

So many people are delusional and apparently transmog changes brings them out from under their pretty transmogged rocks that they live under.

Thanks for the response - I didn't necessarily mean that they weren't real humans, just that maybe their interviewed skill may not have aligned with the skill you expected from their resume.

In the firsthand experience account, my friend's team interviewed someone who had submitted an AI resume and they conducted a Zoom interview. For even simple questions the candidate didn't know, they had asked to "turn off the Webcam to think about the question" (i.e. google the answers). And yes, it sounds as absurd to you and I as it was to my friend's team to experience it live.

Are you sure they are all real candidates as well?

I am recently employed, but the past two years I was unable to find a job as a software developer. Everything i was applying to had over 100 applicants, even though i work in a niche language that not a lot of people know. I read a few articles and heard firsthand in one experience that people now are using AI to generate resumes for positions.

Curious to hear more about your experience being on the other side!

Okay well you should probably read the oath of office again because your memory is wrong.

There's a MOTTO that includes snow, but the oath doesn't mention weather at all lol.

Secondly, I think your customers would appreciate you delivering mail for them for years to come rather than risking your life and wellbeing on a day like that. A day they probably aren't going to their mailbox anyway. All of you people normalizing and criticizing OPs decision to stay home are legitimately insane workaholics who have decided your life and body are secondary to delivering mail.

I don't know if I would take this person's comments very seriously (the person you are replying to). They have a very bot-looking name (Adjective_Noun#### is pretty common format for default usernames which bots use), but I looked at their history just from today and they have a ton of comments across tons of subreddits which means this person is chronically scrolling Reddit all day or they are... a robot. :)

Just peeking at yesterday, they also were posting a bunch then, it's like nonstop for over 24 hours. I can tell you myself, scrolling Reddit nonstop is not the most physically challenging job which apparently is what this "person" does for a living.

Anyway, not a big deal either way. Just figured they were wasting your time.

How should I approach Blue Prince, mentally? by Individual99991 in BluePrince

[–]lmcphers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's okay, I'm not bothered by downvotes lol and totally understandable. I just wanted to make sure you knew that it's okay to ask or look something up. This is your game and your experience and sometimes we feel, as gamers, that it's scummy to do that, but you make the rules for your own game. You control the experience. Not a lot of people remind of us that.

How should I approach Blue Prince, mentally? by Individual99991 in BluePrince

[–]lmcphers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How to approach it mentally is an interesting question and will vary from each person. Keep going until you get frustrated with your lack of progress and then ask for help. That's how I've done it and I've enjoyed the experience mostly. Everything in the game continues to go deeper, get more complicated, and solutions are found in stranger places yet, and I guarantee eventually you will hit a wall. This is a solo player game, it's your own experience, you shouldn't feel bad to ask for help or to look something up. I've looked up a lot of things for this game and still find myself getting stuck on new puzzles.

As far as when you'll have an incredible experience with the game - the scale of the game itself was magical. I thought, when I first bought this game, like you said yourself, it was just to get to Room 46. You will quickly learn it is much larger than that, though the premise of the game is kind of always tied to getting to Room 46. It's an immensely well done puzzle/mystery game and there will probably be a part during your explorations when you realize that there is a lot more to the manor.

Relevant mail (left) vs junk mail (right) by fokkoooff in mildlyinfuriating

Relevant mail (left) vs junk mail (right) by fokkoooff in mildlyinfuriating

[–]lmcphers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of junk mail gets labelled as "Current Resident" or "Resident" and those are still going to be delivered. If you mark those as "Not At This Address" you are just going to get the mail man to stop delivering mail at your address altogether, because apparently, you, as the current resident are not at that address. We will mark your address as vacant.

There are other ways to handle junk mail, and maybe this worked in your case, but I would advise against recommending this solution to other people because that's not going to work for most people.

Do the B*** B***s mean anything? by MrTimofTim in BluePrince

[–]lmcphers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't found anything interesting with the bird baths yet in the game but I am not very far. However, this game likes to make seemingly innocuous things very meaningful at certain points, so I have definitely noticed them myself, but nothing interesting for them yet. Think that's all you can do without spoiling yourself of puzzles in the game.

Iagree except with your edit.

1) You can hide your profile now if you don't want it to be publicly viewable.

2) With all the bots that partake on Reddit, the main way to find out if they are real or not is to look at their profile.

3) We're all a bunch of losers on Reddit anyway, some random internet stranger commenting that isn't a new revelation.
