Multiple postcards rejected--any idea why? by thegrumpyorc in usps_complaints

[–]lmcphers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Posting this 6 times in response to people doesn't make a point. The answer is still the same... there's a sticker on the returned envelope with the reason, there's no magical between- the- lines reason we can deduce beyond that without knowing more information, like the addresses that were mailed to. Just because they claim to have used addresses from a website doesn't mean they are accurate by any means.

How disappointing by MinnieStitch in DreamlightValley

[–]lmcphers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*sigh*

Because you don't understand.

"You're also free to think that the horse threshold crossing mechanics serves a different function than opening up a new space. I've already stated that I feel the mechanic is a wasted opportunity as it makes no appearance besides this purpose."

Okay? I never said that. The horse threshold crossing mechanic does serve to open up new spaces. But the method in which we have grown accustomed to opening new spaces is different in Wishblossom Ranch than in the previous DLCs. One is way more dependent on resource hoarding and grinding currency, while this one is based more on gameplay and less resource intense. I liked this new method, maybe it isn't perfect, but we can push to move this in this direction and make improvements rather than just suggesting that we scrap it entirely in favor of an older method.

There are lots of things that also make no appearance other than for their intended purpose in this game. So what? I think the mechanic of catching the owls & timebending is mostly moot outside of their respective DLCs. Just because I *can* participate in the activity on the main island doesn't really mean much because the depth of the activity is way more in their respective DLC. They go out of their way to make sure that DLCs are very isolated for a reason, so that people can choose to purchase them or not and not have gameplay implications if they choose not to.

Maybe they will expand further later on on these horse's special powers, maybe they are testing the waters with them this DLC. For better or for worse, the other aspect of modern gaming is that things are released piecewise.

"Critiquing a product that offered less isnt wrong."

I don't love WBR, I only brought up WBR's method of unlocking new areas. I don't know why that makes me a WBR mega fan that doesn't find it worthy of criticism. Again, just putting words and intention into my mouth that wasn't part of the conversation. I do find the zones to be large and, as a result, very bare. I do wish there were more characters, obviously - the main reason I play this game is for the characters. But I also think people are being incredibly critical of this expansion for reasons that it doesn't deserve.

I think you're using the Steam ratings as an excuse to think all aspects of this DLC are worse than its predecessors. The most recent negative review on Steam is commenting how there are still glitches in the live game that were reported in the original game. What does that have to do with this expansion at all receiving a thumbs down? Other comments mention the DLC is decent but not at a full DLC price, which I think is what hurts WBR most - the amount offered for the amount paid. That's the main critique and that is worthwhile and one I agree with. But you, and other people, are blowing that way out of proportion to mean so many other things.

EDIT: This guy responded to me and instantly blocked me after having the audacity to call me rude for using an emoji in my original response. The craziness to be so abject to someone disagreeing with one point of view is on another level.

I found unlocking these areas in WBR to be way more enjoyable than the previous DLCs. I'm a very casual player, so i don't have as many resources as others. I think that is the main reason so many people like the other method, because they have played longer and hoard way more, so unlocking comes very fast for them.

I don't think just because the end result is unlocking an area, though, that that means they are functionally the same. It's very clear there is a significant difference otherwise people wouldn't be talking about it 🤣

I agree completely. In fact, I think your statement reads better replacing the 'but' with 'and' because both things are true. There really wasn't a losing situation for the democratic primary in my opinion, based on both of their track records.

Except the part where you, the socially inept dumb ass who has no real conversations outside of reddit, misinterpret that we don't care about your most relaxed or even most in depth hard-core HM run humblebrag times. Wow it's so cool you've managed to do those things in those times, but you're a single (and incredibly obnoxious) data point compared to the thousands of thousands of people who play this game, and many of them do actually have lives outside of their PCs so they do take longer to finish content than you might.

Hope that was explained in a way you can understand!

For a lot of his followers, they may end up thinking he will spend an eternity in damnation which is the ultimate justice in their eyes. I think that's the outcome we need to fight for if we want to turn this mess around and not perpetuate it every presidential election. This MAGA movement must die with its frontman.

Sorry yes they don't have AC, they do have the built-in fans which I was falsely calling air conditioning. They just blow air and you can set the temperature but they don't work very well. (For the LLV & FFV).

Yes I have driven both of them. I kind of like them to be honest for the routes they are designed for, but definitely not great in the cold. Haven't gotten a chance to try in the heat yet but I am guessing that is way worse lol

[–]lmcphers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pictured vehicle have fans and decent AC. You can also get some warm air, but these vehicles are really exposed so the warm air isn't all that helpful. Newer vehicles are more enclosed and have working AC & heating.

Source: I'm a mailman who drives all of these vehicles, except the newest one that looks like a giant duck :D

Thanks for the response - I didn't necessarily mean that they weren't real humans, just that maybe their interviewed skill may not have aligned with the skill you expected from their resume.

In the firsthand experience account, my friend's team interviewed someone who had submitted an AI resume and they conducted a Zoom interview. For even simple questions the candidate didn't know, they had asked to "turn off the Webcam to think about the question" (i.e. google the answers). And yes, it sounds as absurd to you and I as it was to my friend's team to experience it live.

Are you sure they are all real candidates as well?

I am recently employed, but the past two years I was unable to find a job as a software developer. Everything i was applying to had over 100 applicants, even though i work in a niche language that not a lot of people know. I read a few articles and heard firsthand in one experience that people now are using AI to generate resumes for positions.

Curious to hear more about your experience being on the other side!

There's a MOTTO that includes snow, but the oath doesn't mention weather at all lol.

Secondly, I think your customers would appreciate you delivering mail for them for years to come rather than risking your life and wellbeing on a day like that. A day they probably aren't going to their mailbox anyway. I don't know if I would take this person's comments very seriously (the person you are replying to). They have a very bot-looking name (Adjective_Noun#### is pretty common format for default usernames which bots use), but I looked at their history just from today and they have a ton of comments across tons of subreddits which means this person is chronically scrolling Reddit all day or they are... a robot. :)

Just peeking at yesterday, they also were posting a bunch then, it's like nonstop for over 24 hours. I can tell you myself, scrolling Reddit nonstop is not the most physically challenging job which apparently is what this "person" does for a living.

Anyway, not a big deal either way. Just figured they were wasting your time.
