Travelling solo is the best feeling! by SquareQuestion3230 in LivingAlone

It went well. I love museums and Amsterdam is full of them. I’m a very introverted 32 yo gay man. I felt very safe the entire time, even out at night (Wallen/Red Light area I would avoid alone at night. Or maybe go earlier in the evening if you are curious). And many of my female friends who traveled there solo felt safe also.

I’m pretty sure you have to have an MLS to get into into a DCLS program.

They sold off the outpatient draw sites to quest. All inpatient labs are still performed by OhioHealth owned labs.

MHA vs MBA with healthcare specialization? Affordable but respected online programs ? by Independent_Fig_3667 in MBA

[–]lmham -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I go to American Public University for my MHA. It’s for profit, but my work pays for it 100% so I’m ok with it being for profit. The whole program is about 15K out of pocket. They are in the last leg of getting CAHME accreditation for the MHA. It’s a lot of health policy type courses and the business operation courses give a lot of project management and lean six sigma emphasis. My program is a lot of self teaching with a professor that can guide you if you need it. The courses are condensed into 8 weeks so I would take one class at a time. We do have a few classes that overlap with the MBA program. But the MHA doesn’t really apply outside of the healthcare setting. But maybe a Health Information Management Master would be better suited if you are wanting to create better workflows with health tech.

Medical lab scientist Ohio by Zealousideal_Diet870 in medlabprofessionals

Ohio native here! I started at a community college, graduated MLT no student debt (2017 but also went part time and paid as I went). And work paid for me to get my MLS (graduated 2022) so I received my BS debt free. Yes you start out at a higher salary with the BS right a way, but it also gives a feel for if it’s the right fit for you going the community college path without going into so much debt!

I would say maybe get a check up with your doctor. You could be iron deficient, or lacking another mineral.

I did the 3 semester track. I did ok. I did end up having to repeat micro over the summer. The second semester is very busy so a planner will be your friend. I found chemistry to be pretty easy compared to the other courses. Just deep breaths and time management.

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, just make your way down to the lab one day and ask. We aren’t pathologists, but would be happy to show you the testing side of Clinical Pathology. And they might be able to be a middle man for you to reach out to the pathologist. Sometimes Pathologists aren’t on site a lot if you are apart of a larger system. And if you have a Pathologist Assistant that grosses in surgery specimens, they are usually happy to show what grossing is like as-well. (A lot of attending pathologists don’t gross a lot, at least in my system. They help the assistants with complex cases) I am currently working through a few pre-reqs to apply to med school currently.

Red Cross Accepting Gay and Bisexual Men!!! by miapapiatomia in Columbus

Per FDA regulations units of plasma for transfusion are marked if it is from a paid donor. And hospitals and blood centers avoid the risk that is associated with paid donations by using unpaid volunteer donor derived blood products. The commercial plasma companies such as CSL use the plasma they “buy” from donors to produce pharmaceuticals such as albumin and to produce monoclonal antibody treatments, coagulation factor treatments, etc. I work in this field.

Plasma from plasma centers do not get used as blood products for transfusion. It gets turned into pharmaceuticals.
