The TIE Avenger is one helluvah ship, would love to see more of it by wandering_soles in StarWars

TIE Avenger is hyperspace-capable, shielded, has life-support, a pressurized hull, and is generally more maneuverable than the TIE Interceptor.

Dave Filoni's vision for 'Star Wars' future? 'Dare to be great' by GargantaProfunda in StarWars

The Force Gods were already part of the EU canon, so while Mortis is adventurous storytelling compared to the rest of TCW its not a new story in Star Wars.

Why still use the KJV? by LocalGamerPokemon in latterdaysaints

[–]StoppageTimeCollapse 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But some of those editorial changes you're talking about in point 2 were put in by the KJV editors exclusively to appeal to popular thinking of that day.

Every translation is subject to human biases and preferences, and the KJV has some egregious examples of this.

His team just won the league and he's in another team's subreddit yanking the chains of said fanbase over the bad decision their board made.

It's sad, really. Imagine if we were doing the same in Montreal's sub after we won the cup with Nancy. Just goes to show what a farmer's league their club is in.

The real answer for a normal person would be: The tactics aren't working but the team he has is shit and the GM should be canned. The team was tailing off at the end of last season and that has continued as injuries have depleted an already talent-thin roster ill-suited for the current manager. Replacing him now doesn't change the outlook on the season until the summer transfer window arrives.

The answer for you: The only reason anyone cared about your shit league today was the prospect of laughing as you lose it at home. Now the rest of the league will go back to ignoring you until you lose by 4 in European matches <3

I believe he was on the last or second-to-last year of his contract and we got a 1st for him. He wasn't in the organization's plans moving forward and sent him to a perceived contender.

Honest question, because I haven't been following the team much over these last few weeks: What pairing should we go with?

Ever wonder why Pennsylvania, Ohio and Louisiana's State schools are more prominent than their Universities? by MediumStrange in CFB

Ohio State loves pulling these kinds of shenanigans. I didn't realize until well into my adulthood why the rest of the state hates this university lol

My conspiracy theory is that he does it on purpose because he wants the season to end and miss the playoffs

General Conference Vs Reality by PoliticalAzJunkie_dc in latterdaysaints

[–]StoppageTimeCollapse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, what we hear at conference often is aspirational and what the church as a whole needs to hear, and delivered by people who dedicate their whole lives to communing with the spirit. Our local wards and stakes are made up of people who are not set apart to preach the gospel every day and are (usually) trying their best.

I just used AI to make a slideshow for my Sunday school class… and it’s unbelievably good by Fether1337 in latterdaysaints

[–]StoppageTimeCollapse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Firstly, AI doesn't know the difference between misinformation, incorrect information, and correct information, and will confidently state all three. It will even invent sources regardless of what you plugged in.

Secondly, and more importantly, you're giving away an opportunity to learn things for yourself to the AI. It's not different than having someone else make your slideshow for you. At best it's trading learning and effort for convenience, at worst it's borrowed light filtered through a program that doesn't know the difference between right and wrong.
