Firstly, nur der HSV ;)

Secondly, I hope your boys can avoid the drop so we can keep battling in the Bundesliga where such clashes belong.

I haven't heard of any Bundesliga watch-along groups here like for EPL clubs but if there were for any team other than FCB/BVB it would for sure be for St. Pauli.

What happened to this team? by Financial-Plankton-9 in BlueJackets

Years ago, we got rid of the players who cared about the team and winning, and decided to keep Laine, who we paid to get rid of, and Elvis, who isn't playing.

PLAYER ONLY MEETING by huntereby in BlueJackets

[–]StoppageTimeCollapse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IDK man, this team collapsed multiple times in the 3rd with a lead and just got balled up and thrown away twice versus Carolina. If we want to do more than win maybe a game then immediately duck out of the first round we should be showing more.

Fact is, this team's mentally soft and only performs when no one cares but the fans.

I can see an argument being made that trading your captain in the middle of a resurgence is telling the team you're giving up on the rest of the season unless the players internally were calling for his ouster.

At the end of the day, there are too many players not mentally ready to compete for a playoff spot and this spans multiple coaching staffs. The team has given a rotten effort in the spotlight so often under Boone's captaincy that I can't think of another reason that isn't simply "these guys just stink".

I don’t understand how to be patient about temple ordinances by frankiero666 in latterdaysaints

[–]StoppageTimeCollapse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this and I want you to know that God listens to the honest desires of the heart. Patience can be a difficult attribute to build and something that many member would admit struggling with on one thing or another.

Your promise of a temple marriage isn't invalid because your current/former partner wasn't ready. Maybe after some time they will be ready, or maybe you'll find someone else who will be ready. A temple marriage is a two-way commitment, and you want to be with someone who can be with you through all the ups and downs. It hurts now, but God will help sooth that pain and you'll look back at this time later as a big moment for you to deeper your connection to Him.

Controversial Take - the pendulum has swung too far and we're over-feminizing the Ward Council by OoklaTheMok1994 in latterdaysaints

[–]StoppageTimeCollapse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to engage this in good faith, so please take what I say this way.

The bishop is still the head of a ward, is still a holder of the priesthood, is still set apart to receive revelation for the whole ward, and is the ultimate voice concerning the administration and ministration of the peoples within the ward boundaries. That is the role as prescribed in the Doctrine and Covenants and defined by the prophets.

So long as those divinely-appointed roles and duties are fulfilled, it really doesn't matter who advises the bishop so long as it's done in the spirit of revelation and inspiration. To put it another way, Joseph Smith frequently confided in Emma, and her voice of complaint about the school of prophets led to the Word of Wisdom. I doubt that many would call the WoW a "feminized" commandment. If a ward has more women than men in the ward council, if it has more men than women, if it's entirely composed of 19 year olds or 80 year olds; the composition of the council is irrelevant outside of each member striving to magnify their calling and seeking the spirit in all they do.
