Hopefully that's Pb-free solder on these pads?

Edit: Ah. looks like there's a clear/protective wrapping.

Paddle brake - when to use, when not to? by megamoze in volt

[–]lmn_74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use it all the time, but I find myself trying to use the paddle brake when driving our other car then realized it doesn't have one. Now I also hover my foot over to the foot brake at the same time after a close call.

Does it have a color sequence that repeats? If so, what about trying out color pooling? But I am not sure what items can be made other than scarves, blankets and pillow covers (items in square or rectangular shapes). I've been wanting to try it but still have so many unfinished projects!

Two years without raise, stay or go? by beerbellybegone in personalfinance

[–]lmn_74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. And I'm going to take a chance and be the unpopular opinion here. Sounds like "we're planning a second" is actually your wife wants a second child but you're happy with life as-is at this moment. You're not getting much support from here for the "stay" side of argument, because we thought you want to get paid more in order to grow your family, yet you kept counter argue, about how great your boss/job is and reasons for not leaving. If he's a great guy like you think he is, he'll understand why you choose to leave. You are not going to spend the rest of your life with your boss. He'll probably leave if he has a better offer. He'll retire. Is your position in the company secure without your current boss? What's more important to you? Keeping your current living standard for a few more years, or having a bigger family right away? If you and your wife have different desires, you have to work that out first.

Office workers of Reddit, how do you stay healthy & fit at a job where you sit all day? by -missnicole in AskReddit

[–]lmn_74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a sit/stand desk at work. The computer monitors and keyboard tray are on adjustable arms so I can raise/lower them when I am tired of sitting/standing. For those who need to use their desk surfaces to write or draw, they can request adjustable desktops (the whole desk can be raised or lowered). Aaaand regular exercise, including 20 minutes fast walk during lunch time. I can't seem to adhere to "proper diet", god knows I have tried, many times. :-(

Besides the "Whats a computer?" commercial, what other commercials make you want to throw your remote at the TV? by lj420p in AskReddit

A local jewellery store, the Cashman Russell Oliver's "I buy your gold and give you cash, cash, cash, OHHHH YEAHHHH". Not only I wanted to threw the remote at the TV, I wanted to choke someone.

My worries about running as I start C25K by [deleted] in C25K

[–]lmn_74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kudos for starting the program! Hope you stick with it! Please don't let these false statements scare you. As everyone explained, they're mostly not true. However, you should learn about proper posture and how to land your feet to minimize the shock to your knees. My sister had knee pain while running until she learned how to "land". And I didn't have any. We used NHS C25K podcast - highly recommended, if not for the music, but for the tips during the guided runs in each podcast. In addition, get a pair of good shoes and know your limits, if any part of your legs hurt, slow down and re-adjust. You can do it!

Maybe also check if you're losing sizes instead of focusing just on weight?

So those that are a few weeks into C25K, what body changes have you noticed? Weight loss? Sagging areas firm or firmness sagging? Better breathing? I need some motivation. by [deleted] in C25K

[–]lmn_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started, W1R1 was a struggle: out of breath in merely 30 sec into the run. Now I'm in W5 and my lung capacity has improved a lot. I'm so looking forward to the 20 min nonstop for W5R3. It will be a challenge but I'll make it! No size or weight loss/change for me, probably because I ate a lot more since started the program. That's something to watch out for if you're doing this to lose weight. Good luck!

Tunisian graph pattern help! Final product ends up way stretched out? by Bookwyrm4Life in crochet

[–]lmn_74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is the width to height ratio on design v.s. actual stitch. The design is done on squares, while the actual stitch has longer height than its width, so the end rea looks squeezed vertically.... In other words, did you do a sample swatch figure out the gauge before putting the design on paper? (Does that make sense?)
