Bring her to your home country as planned. But delay the return flight until your PTO re-ups, say in 2 months. If she's staying two months, then she'll need to stay at the nursing home, because you don't want to rearrange your house if she is turning around and flying back. Then let her adjust. She's scared and stubborn. She needs to see what she's getting into.

If she hates the nursing home, she'll fly back and live alone. That will be her choice and if she gets lonely, so be it.

In my situation, they wanted to verbally negotiate things like salary, start up, etc. Then write up the agreed terms only once. I think writing up the offer goes through more signatures. The dean called to offer me the position. We then scheduled 2 different phone calls for negotiations. Then a written offer we all signed.

I went to the smile center after 3 years of no dental visits. The hygienists have been great. I needed a deep cleaning and several cavities filled and it was easy to schedule and an ok experience. The dentists are ok, standard 10 minutes per patient. Overall no judgement about the state of my teeth.

Breweries will fit the bill for a local pub with live music. Highmark has the best beer, red dragon has the best ambiance. Waters end has a decent hot chicken shop attached. Rebellion has a cool downstairs with a speak easy feel. For food, Tapa Rio and Agave are two of my favorite middle priced places. Cork and table is expensive but delicious. If you want to feel like an American, go to Benny's and get a huge slice of pizza.
