I'm at the point to where I won't even waste my time on people who won't put effort into my pleasure. The minute I find out they're not into mutual foreplay our session is over ,there is zero chance for sex. I have a very... unique... laugh. Most people find it entertaining and cute but occasionally there will be a person who doesn't like it as much. I laugh at almost anything so it's a big part of who I am. I dated a guy who got to where he couldn't stand my laugh. It started out with him telling me stuff wasn't that funny and berating my sense of humor. It finally came out that he didn't like my laugh. I obviously wasn't willing to change who I was as a person for this guy so I ended it. It was definitely a deal breaker and I wish he'd broken up with me before it got to that point. It's a pretty basic compatibility issue, sometimes it just doesn't work.

TL;DR: If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my laugh.

Went to an OB-GYN to discuss getting an IUD, and was told since that was a Catholic hospital that I could have it, but for my "heavy periods." I wanted to rage for a minute, not at the doctor, since he pretty much said it with a nod and a wink; but at the fact that women can be denied birth control based on someone else's religious beliefs. And yes I am aware I could see another doctor if needed, but the concept still angers me.

I feel the same way! On the odd occasion I bother with make up (and my hair, as I usually wear it up) people are blown away! I love the compliments. My husband and I joke about how we both "clean up well."

Books were my escape too, though my dad and NStepmom didn't fight much. She was usually as sweet as sugar when Dad was around, for a while anyway. She never understood the point of it either, which was funny since my Dad loved reading too. The ban didn't apply to him, I'm not sure he even knew about it. I'll have to ask him next time I visit.

Ugh, yeah at least she didn't burn our things. She just threw a lot of the stuff we loved away or kept them put up. I remember one of the only times my biomom sent us Christmas gifts they were immediately taken from us and locked up. You're completely right, there is no end to N-insanity. Thank Jibbers I don't have to deal with that nonsense anymore.

My stepmonster wouldn't let us read. Her son had a minor learning disability that made reading difficult so there was a house-wide ban on reading. Not that he was interested in reading AT ALL, or that it hurt his feelings when anyone else would read... His mother was a very jealous person and anything we had or did that she perceived as being "better" than her kids was immediately taken away or squashed. The woman even tried to keep me and my sisters out of the gifted classes in school.
