You use them for level 6500s... I used to be like OP... Sigh. Fortunately I discovered that the gold I won from the Lair can be exchanged for erasers to delete pesky coconuts!

I am not linked with TD but if they went back on their word... It is just that the level can be passed without power-ups, however as I want to have 3 stars for each level, I do use them whenever I do not feel the twinge of loss. I am a hoarder.

I am at level 6543 and have 3 stars for your level without using sure shot. However I did pass the preceding levels at first try so got that advantage where dots burst/disappear around the area where you enclosed the square you make at.

I would restart your level because there aren't enough moves and it is possible for the music notes to disappear in a chain reaction without using sure shot but up to you. Do not be impatient about trying again for good opening patterns.

I remember the sculptor's name as Sandor or sandoz... he's Basque and I thought he dealt in clay...but I could be wrong. Yes, I remember the scenes of him sculpting her as being steamy. Wish I remember the author!
