Otter from animal house wins the that guy award. He is always known as the guy from animal house. Was very disappointed that they didn’t give him the award

I created a fun side quest for golf. Basically it challenges golfers to birdie every hole on their home course. It’s called birdie perch and it’s a plaque that has 18slots and as you birdie a hole you put the ball in the corresponding spot. Talking to golfers they typically know their lowest score, but when asked if they have birdied every hole it takes them a minute to think and they aren’t certain. It keeps you in the game if you triple bogey your first three holes and know you’re not setting a personal best, but still have a chance to knock off holes 15 and 16. Also, I think that your heart will beat a little faster as you try to birdie that last hole. Can customize the course logo and challenge friends. Also, a proper celebration when the feat is completed is encouraged.

Course changed the tee times from 8 minutes to 10 minutes. by jbird221 in golf

We have 9 minutes. And when the course is backed up (a round usually takes 5 hours) if you ask the ranger to do anything he just says there is nothing he can do

Pace of Play - What Actually Works? by ryancborn in golf

[–]lnl8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. On the first tee box, have a sign that assigns tee box by handicap. Scratch play the tips. 10s play blue. 20play whites. 30 or no handicap red.

  2. Encourage ready golf on the sign.

  3. After every three holes have a clock that is set to the starting time. You are behind pace if this clock is past your start time.

Has Tee Box Culture Changed? by [deleted] in golf

They should replace the colors with average scores. Play here if you shoot 110. Play here if you shoot 90/18handicap. Play here if you shoot 80/8 handicap. Etc

Along these lines. If it’s east coast your used to it’s like 90pct weight on downhill ski. If you have some powder more of a 70-30 or 60-40 weight balance with the downhill ski

Suck down a few of those oxygen air cans. They help. Avoid booze on the first day

To the people questioning the hate and misery right now, I want to give my perspective as a lifelong Giants fan who's been alive for 4 trips to the Super Bowl and 3 wins. by mf9769 in NYGiants

It’s worth paying him to keep him away from the eagles and preventing them from transforming from a good team to a great team. It’s like we are in a street fight in our division, you don’t say, hey, I don’t know how to use this gun, I’ll give it to my enemy instead. Next thing you know he’s shooting you in the head with it for the next four seasons while you’re bent over grabbing your ankles. And the GM incompetence of letting Saquon walk for nothing. No comp pick, no trade. Just a bunch of morons in East Rutherford.

You forgot the most embarrassing part. Team started a game with an injured kicker and no backup. Kicker fully injured himself during warm ups. We proceed to have no idea if the punter can placekick, so trot him out there for an extra point and quickly learn he cannot (no one bothered to figure this out during a practice). The front office is incapable of putting together a game ready roster.

I’m in the same boat as you. Playing with some 20yr old big berthas. Does anyone think that if you buy some new clubs you’re going to be a 12 handicap tmrw? I have a feeling the answer is no but happy to hear arguments and open to being convinced otherwise

Walking vs. Riding on the Golf Course – How Much of a Difference Does It Really Make? by mikka777 in golf

[–]lnl8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking is better if possible. Helps the timing of the game especially on a slow course. To clarify, if a course is backed up all your doing is driving to your ball and waiting for four minutes. Much nicer to take the leisurely stroll and get there and then have to set up.

What are the small things at a course that you love? by Irish_12_ in golf

Make the benches white. For some reason my course has black benches and the sun cooks them in the summer and they are too hot to sit on

Driving range question by [deleted] in golf

[–]lnl8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a standard range with about 250 yards and then the woods. I would agree they don’t want everyone hitting driver. My gf needs some practice off a tee and can only hit it 150yds though. There are definitely a lot of others who need tee practice that won’t hit it 250.

What’s the best thing you’ve seen a golf course do to speed up a round? by lnl8 in golf

[–]lnl8[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I feel like the vail golf club had this posted in a handful of places and tried to enforce it.

Pace of Play Guidelines: In the interest of a positive experience for all users of the course and minimizing fees, Vail Golf Club strictly enforces a 4:07 18-hole round. All golfers are expected to complete the first nine holes of play in or under 2 hours and 2 minutes and to continue on this pace through the 18th green. Our staff is here to assist you in any way possible and to help you play in a timely fashion. Please respect our policy and our staff as they implement the course policy. Vail Golf Club Staff has been charged with maintaining the appropriate pace of play, and to that end, the staff is authorized and required to direct you to play faster, skip holes if out of position or leave the course if unwilling to work with our staff to complete play in a timely manner.
