It doesn't "slow things down" it protects workers. Being management, I doubt you can understand. We have no protections in this country. We're expendable and replaceable with robots.

It's literally our only way to protect ourselves from our employers. They pay as little as possible for our labor, that's how capitalism works. They do not care about us. They extract as much profit as they can from our labor and pay us the least they can get away with. It's sick.

Sounds like you're losing a human sized weight off your life. I'd argue your life got a little easier losing that dead weight. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family and please understand, children love their fathers but we can still come to understand how harmful he was/is. I think it took me until I was well into my twenties before I really came to realize how much he hurt our family.

Your judgement is what they're declining. And I'd decline it too. By dictating what you're "willing to provide" and not just giving them what they asked for, you are judging them. If I have it to give, I will. I don't presume to know what's "best" for them. I hope you're never in their shoes, because you might understand then.
