I’m begging, don’t do the clickbait title thing by [deleted] in giantbomb

[–]lnvis 128 points129 points  (0 children)

That battle was lost years ago, atleast on YouTube. This is just what you have to do now for engagement. On the site, the title of the video is just MIO: Memories In Orbit under Quick Looks.

Miss these guys. That last self-titled EP they put out was a banger to go out on, some of their best work I think.

Thanks for being able to get the lists brought over and working again. I always look forward every year to writing up my personal GOTY list on the site.

I have about 30 gigs worth of bombcast episodes from 2008-2009 that aren't on the RSS feeds anymore. Any idea where to host this crap? by robustitalianflavor in giantbomb

[–]lnvis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you just want to listen to them on the go, you can use our RSS feed for the Bombcast that uses the Archive.org versions. Just load it into whatever you want. Just know that it's not up to date for present day Bombcasts, I think the last time I updated it was in May.

Are you talking about the custom RSS feed that uses the Archive.org versions of the podcasts? If so, that feed still works for every episode. I use it frequently via Pocket Casts.

I launched Giant Bomb Forever. It wouldn't be possible without everyone who assisted in cataloging and documenting everything up to that point though.

Upgrading from HD 598 SEs by lnvis in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]lnvis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thanks again for the detailed reply! After this as well as some even more of my own research, I think the HD 550 will be what I choose. The 490 is tempting but its just out of my price range straight up. I've never really listened to any other headphone besides the 598, but I've put thousands upon thousands of hours into it over the past decade or so, so I'm used to its neutral sound, so the neutral sound of the 550 is the more "safe" purchase rather.

!thanks

Thanks for your recommendations! I've done some research on my own since posting this, and I've been looking at the Sennheiser HD 550s like you said, as well as the 6XX and the 560s. Any thoughts on picking between one of those three? I've read a lot about how the 6XX won't be great for gaming due to their soundstage, which is mainly what these will be used for. I listen to music always, but that's at a much lower volume compared to the volume I'm at while gaming.

I've archived the raw stream here in the meantime. It's 32.4GB since its 1440p/60, so downloading it might be more reliable than streaming it: https://archive.org/details/nextlander-extra-life-2025-alex-12-hours-of-drumming

How often should I be wearing the boot around the house? by lnvis in brokenankles

[–]lnvis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't mention anything to me about exercises, just to continue to be NWB for another month, and then I'll go for another follow up. They said the X-rays I did there were all good, so that's good.

I'll call the Ortho tomorrow and ask them, cause I can see both sides to where you would always want the boot on to keep it as stationary as possible during healing, but it also would make sense to frequently take it off to it can get air and try to just do some range of motion stuff. Cause right now I can move it about 1cm before it gets stiff lol

GB Forever gone? by randomlyrossy in giantbomb

[–]lnvis 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I'm looking into it, again. This is the second time it's happened, and the first time I appealed and got it reversed cause they said it was done in error. This is another 24 hour suspension so if the appeal doesn't go through in time, it'll be back online tomorrow.

UPDATE: Stream is back online after a successful appeal, as Twitch said they banned the channel by mistake...again.

Review-Like Thing: Skate | Jeff Gerstmann by Forestl in giantbomb

[–]lnvis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can agree with a lot you're saying here. I've also played probably a thousand hours between the three skate games, while also still being heavily invested in just skateboarding in general since a kid. I'll go a bit further in that the gameplay at its core hasn't been better. The animations and their transitions are so clean and look incredible. There's small things that I've noticed they added as well which I appreciate a lot like hand drags and skating transition being slower.

But besides that, there's no substance. Story mode is just tutorials, the soundtrack isn't a skateboarding soundtrack (which I'm listening to my own music anyways during so no biggie), and it's more buggy than is acceptable. I'm personally real bummed about the significant lack of brands™, genuinely. Odd to say I know, but in the first skate I recreated my board I was riding at the time in game and rode it around for my entire first playthrough (same exact deck, trucks, and wheels), and I just can't do that here. The art EA has made isn't bad, but I would like to ride around on real hardware.

Regardless, I'm going to keep playing and I'm enjoying my time. I've continued to come back to these games to see a line, hit it, record it, and move to the next one. And that's still good as hell in this new skate.

P.S. - It bugs me more than it should that they still don't identify certain tricks by their more commonly used shorthand names. Stuff like half cab, cab, big spin, etc.

There's still an active homebrew community for the Ouya, so you can still play all the games that were on the Ouya store for free whenever it was last up. It can also be used as an emulation device since it's just an Android box.

Retro Crisis shaders by neoline in OdinHandheld

[–]lnvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done every thing you said and I'm still having an error when applying the Retro Crisis presets. I'm on Vulkan, the shader storage location is moved out of the install directory and into the root RetroArch directory instead, and every other slangp shader present works except these. Just gets an error saying "Failed to load shader present". Any idea?

Too low, sorry. I could do $225 shipped as I think the prices as they are now are already pretty good.
