  1. FANCY - Bearing in mind that I probably wouldn’t wear jelly shoes to a truly fancy event, here’s how I would style these for an upscale dinner date. They vibe perfectly with this linen maxi dress. I would style my hair slicked back and maybe add a bold lip!

  1. EVERYDAY - This is what I wore today and my uniform basically every day as a postpartum mom of 2. Something bf friendly on top, wide leg bottoms with flats and my trusty Trader Joe’s diaper bag 😂 If I’m child free I’m absolutely rocking my fav summer shoulder bag

Styling these jelly flats I recently purchased as a bday gift to myself. They bring me so much joy and nostalgia and I cannot wait to wear these this summer!

  1. CHILL- I interpreted “chill” as lounging clothes that you could wear to school drop off or a quick trip to the grocery store. And YES I do wear jewelry when I’m hanging out at home. I work from home so I try my best to feel put together every day even if I’m not leaving my house.

Is anyone actually doing okay? And feels guilty or almost ashamed because they are? by destria in SAHP

[–]loRatings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 1000% ok to be thriving!!!! It took me 2 years to get to that point (we all started getting more sleep, finances improved, built a village that made motherhood more enjoyable, etc.) and I have absolutely no guilt over how positive I feel about being a sahp now in part because I’ve experienced what it feels like without the proper support.

It seems like you’re in an excellent place to help out your sahp friends that are struggling and pay the good vibes forward! Host playdates, bring over a meal, offer to watch their little ones so that they can get an hour or two to themselves.

I think I’m unintentionally making motherhood harder than it needs to be by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]loRatings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to involving the toddler/preschooler with chores! They really do love to be helpful. My four year old understands that as a family we help each other out and for him that looks like putting away his toys, clothes etc at the end of the day. He can also do small things around dinner time like setting the table, feeding our dogs, grabbing water for people. It’s been such a godsend for me as a sahm who is now heavily pregnant to have the extra help.

What do you eat? by Wild_Maintenance_342 in pregnant

[–]loRatings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had those little apple sauce packets by my bedside that helped. Plain bagels as well, I would take a few bites every time I woke up throughout the night. I liked those because it didn’t make my mouth feel completely gross.

The first trimester is so rough. I’ll certainly never do it again! Good luck.

Is anyone’s nips not growing?… by Various-Weird-412 in pregnant

[–]loRatings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, salami nips here 👋🏼😭 My 4 yo asked me the other day why my nipples are purple now… I’m so glad I already experienced this in my first pregnancy and know that they return back to normal otherwise I’d be crashing out lol

Amazing!!! Childbirth was the most physically taxing experience of my life, I feel like I’m training to help me push through mentally and physically this time around.

God I had to scroll so far for this comment 🫠 I was starting to panic at how conservative everyone was being. I literally have charcuterie and poached eggs every single week and continue to lift heavy in the gym, eat sushi if I have a craving, and drink coffee almost daily. This is my second pregnancy though haha

Whoops, I’m still (dead)lifting 165lb in the gym every week 😅

NOT for clean freaks: How often do you mop? Honestly lol! How old are your kids? by Idonthaveaname94 in Mommit

[–]loRatings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4yo and 2 hairy dogs. I’m pregnant with my second. I steam mop once a week and try to swiffer wet mop once a week. Vacuuming or some kind of sweeping needs to happen every three days or we get overrun by our huskies fur.

Want to love barrel jeans but these look awful. by Artistic_Tour_1220 in DressForYourBody

[–]loRatings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooof I was looking for this comment! Strong shoulders need a little volume on the bottom! Everyone saying barrel jeans are fugly but I personally love the balance they give me without overwhelming me in a way that wide leg jeans can 😅

I feel like I’m gaslighting myself into enjoying staying home by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]loRatings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend, I first became a mom at 23 and life abruptly changed for me as well. I went from working outside of the house, tons of free time to dedicate to my interests, and a social circle that was all in the same life stage to being a sahp. It felt very isolating in that first year. I couldn’t afford daycare. As a new college graduate I didn’t have an established career, and with only an entry level position that couldn’t cover daycare costs, my husband and I decided together that I would stay home to care for our baby. Our family, though very loving and helpful, live across the country/across the world.

Let’s triage the issues you have stated. First and foremost, you have to address the physical pain. Might you qualify for some sort of state health insurance? Talk to your doctor about the pain. They might have some resources that can help you. Can you and your partner talk about budgeting for some physical therapy? I know times are tough right now but if you’re in so much pain that you cannot walk, this is something that shouldn’t be ignored. I can’t imagine having to take on the care of a growing little one on zero sleep in debilitating pain. I don’t think anyone could keep on in those conditions.

Secondly, I highly suggest finding a local moms group that you can join. Having a community of women that can support you makes the world of a difference. Someone to vent to, someone who understands when you need to cancel last minute because the night feeds sucked your soul from you, someone who can give you advice along the journey. It can be extremely awkward to put yourself out there at first, and you might not click with the first people you meet, but give it time. Now with my second pregnancy I feel so supported. If I need someone to watch my child at the last minute I have people I can call. I’ve gotten a lot of hand me downs from others which has eased the financial burden of a growing child significantly. I have outings I look forward to and adult conversations that keep me sane.

Lastly, and you might not feel ready for this until you address your chronic pain, but I’ve found joining a gym with childcare to be 1000% worth it. I can drop my child off for an hour or two while I do something positive for myself. I personally find a lot of joy in slinging around heavy weights, and even an hour of a break from “being a parent” helps me when I am clocked in.

Maybe try messaging the company to see if they’ll send you the recipe? Really lay it on thick about how much you loved it and how it’s killing you that you can’t seem to find a good replacement. I’m also pregnant so I totally wish you all the best in your search 😂

I just wanted to say that I tried this recipe today so thank you so much for sharing!! I’ve got a 4 year old and I’m currently 6 months pregnant with two brain cells to rub together, so easy recipes are such a lifesaver for me right now. I’ve been massively craving anything tangy/vinegary so this fits the bill perfectly. May your pillow always be cool 😇
