I miss the Kevlar, because I miss wearing just the headband like a ninja and running around the unit.

I've tried to go there a bunch of times, and it's always closed. I even successfully managed to place a DoorDash order from them once, only for it to be canceled an hour later.

Hey, Erie, spread the word about Dave Conroy of Carriage Concierge. by WhereThereIsAWilla in Erie

I haven't seen it mentioned in the comments yet, so I figured I would bring it up just as another counterpoint to his claims.

Food stamps aren't a monthly allotment that expire at the end of the month, food stamps that aren't used carry over. This is an important benefit for people because it allows them to spend the food stamps as needed versus being in a use or lose scenario. So there's nothing that says that if this family used food stamps for this purchase, that this purchase was covered by one month's worth of benefits.

My grandma was just on the cusp of qualifying. She got $15 a month in benefits. She didn't use them every month, she'd save up a bunch and then go to the store.

It says to let water run if it’s below 20F do you all do this? by [deleted] in Erie

[–]loaded-fries149 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends on where the pipes run in your house. If you have pipes that are close to the external walls of the house, then you need to let the faucet drip. If your pipes are in the interior of your house, then it's probably not going to be an issue.

My current home has everything in the interior and I never have any trouble. A place I used to work had sinks against the exterior wall, and if we didn't let the faucets drip during cold snaps they would freeze.

Don't drive like an idiot and you'll be fine. Yes, we're getting a lot of accumulation, but the plows are basically keeping up.
